St. John's shot 7-of-11 from deep in the first and turned 10 M'Q turnovers into 12 points. H. Ellenson and Fischer each w/2 fouls for MU.

Would like to see us drive to the basket right out of the gate in the 2nd half. Put pressure on Ellenson and Fischer to either play lax D or risk fouling going for a block/contest

This game feels like a higher scoring version of the Cinci game where Harkless had the tip in to win it

Yakwe is the player of the game. Great effort.

Another moral victory, good effort.

I just want a win though.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall during post game video review...

Either Mullin and staff don't say anything to DJ about the rushed shot/ball hogging or they tell him, he nods his head in agreement then just keeps doing what he does.

I don't mind him shooting, I just wish he'd look around just a bit and/or have an idea of the time left on clock

I stated last week that I believe in many ways it's encouraged (I could be wrong, but that's my belief).  I think it's in part to the NBA style that the staff wants to incorporate.

Was at the game, was Lovett? Felix should never shoot outside of 5 feet. Yakwe is a stud

I din't notice Lovett was not w/ team again.  What about Williams?

Jones shouldn't shoot either... he's an rim thumper.  Yakwe was awesome and looked very composed.

Love Mullin....  Got a laugh of Mullin sitting on the scorer's table again when it was around 53-50.  I noticed the guy at the table trying to look around Mullin's back to see the game.   The scorer's table plus the unlabeled Perrier = PRICELESS.

I don't think ineligible players can travel with the team on the road. Adonis couldn't last year.

No reason for any of the red shirting guys to go to away games.  Would be much more interested if he's not there at next home game with school  back in session

Its already been touched on, but Durand Johnson is a real head scratcher. The 1-on-3 drive into the lane, the off balance shots w/o passing the ball around.

What's up with Slice on the bench? He looks miserable, like he would rather be somewhere else.

Be careful about reading too much into body language.  For example, those criticizing Mullin for being too "laid back" , when anyone who watched today would have seen a very animated coach (as in other games as well).  Matt and Slice are not very demonstrative by nature, and Slice has been that way whenever I've seen him in the past.  Opposite of St. Jean.  That is personality.  Slice is fully invested in this, and I'm sure the losing is frustrating to him, as it is for Chris and everyone else.

As far as the game, very happy with the effort by the kids today, as much as I disdain "moral" victories.  Some guys seem to be making real strides and, unfortunately, we are going to have to live with Johnson's decision-making at times because we struggle to score so badly against man-to-man D, and he does have the ability to make some shots.

Also I thought the staff did a really nice job with the game plan today.  Switching defenses, spreading Marquette out, which made all the sense in the world with Sima out and Marquette's personnel.  Using the zone in the first half once Fisher started scoring at will.

One of his "John Gotti" suits is missing in his dry cleaners.

DJ is not driving... it's more like ugly plowing to the lane.    In fairness to DJ he was like 7-11 from field today, but on the flip side when he misses they are bad, and when he makes them they are more often poor shot selection, no looks elsewhere all eyes on DJ shots.

It is what it is, unless Mullin takes different position on that.

Didn't notice anything unusual w/ Slice, but if wanting to be anywhere else, I  hope Slice wants to be recruiting !!!!!!
