Epic fail that is Barclays. Maybe they should hire Chip Kelly

If there was any truth to Mullin becoming coach of Nets, he would go from most loved in NY to most hated in seconds.

For that reason alone, I think this writer is just looking to create a buzz.

There is no chance in hell Chris Mullin would leave us after one year to go to the Nets. Would completely tarnish his legacy and he would be fired in a few years because they are in the worst position for the future of any team in the NBA.

If they want local should go for Mark Jackson or even PJ who should have been named full time coach rather than Kidd.  Whoever becomes coach/GM needs Long Term deal as they will b lousy for a fewyears having given up all the first round choices for has been Celtics as Ainge ate King's lunch.

Tarnish his legacy?  CM is the walking embodiment of St. John's legacy.  Might piss some of us off, but his legacy will be fine.

Doubt Mullin would bounce for that. I could see Calipari taking the job though.

Can't see him leaving halfway through his first season when he has a 7-10 record. Number 1 to get hired at his alma matta and leave before he even starts the rebuild would look very bad for him and also why would the nets want him. I think he will be a good coach down the line but right now he has shown much with a team that has lost like 6-7 straight games.

This doesn't mean opposing coaches on the recruiting trail won't have a field day with this.

Doubtful re: field day.  Pretty easy for Mullin to easily reject this saying why would he leave his alma mater - he could have stayed in the NBA if thats what he wanted to do.  At the same time could be a positive because it shows recruits that NBA teams are interested in our coach, and just reaffirms his NBA connections,.

Obviously BS but don't see how being in the conversation for NBA jobs with Calipari is a bad thing.
