It only took 18 games but Durand Johnson has his own hecklers now. Some funny stuff being said at the Garden last night. Can't help but laugh. Dude takes bad shots...a lot of the time.
Amar has been pretty good this season, dudes game has improved beyond anything he was last year. He is a pretty great teammate on the bench as well as said above. I thought these coaches could help him and you can see it on the court. But he can't be the best player on the team during the game. That is the recipe for 20 pt loses.
Also I like Ron, just thought you'd like to know.
He needs to be benched. Mussini, Sima, Ellison, Yakwe and Amar need practice running offensive sets, and working together. Johnson is standing in the way of their development. Of all of the 5th year transfers out there, we landed the one guy who has actually made the team worse just by being on the court. I like Ron, a little, but he move his feet on defense, and every single time he gets called for a foul, he throws his arms out and bitches to the ref. He sets a bad example on the court. This is what Norm's guys did, too. It creates a belief that the refs are out to get us. Which is absurd.
I mean I didn't see any of his time at Missouri State but he might be getting that from our coach
I think our coach doesn't have a full roster to work with, so he plays guys like M'vouika and Johnson, because there really isn't anyone else. He yanked Mussini against Georgtown for what seemed like too long, and I think he did that because he didn't want to hurt his confidence. The only guy I'd give some minutes to is Holifield and at this point that wouldn't be to see what he could do in terms of playing at a BE level, but just to get someone out there who wants to work hard.
Grad students can be great additions to a program that is already a contender. Like Collins at A&M. Would have loved that guy here. I think a grad degree is a tough sell at St.John's, and most grad students aren't NBA hopefuls, so their education actually matters.
