Just saw the shot chart we only made 3 shots inside the , in the first half. That horrible! Has a lot to do with not moving the ball ,I hear the coaches yelling move the ball at the top of their lungs. Butler had a terrible first half as well I can see us getting clapped by 30 today.

They need to yell loader.

I'm getting the picture from the posts.  Think I'll leave it alone.  Thought we would cover today but It doesn't sound likely.

Malik Ellison making 1 of 2 free throws every time is one of lifes only guarantees.

Got to say this annoys me too. Seems like every trip. Lack of focus + detail seems to be the root of all his problems. I'm not overly concerned because I think he'll phase this out with more experience but needs to be addressed.

Lack of focus? He has had some awful turnovers this year. At timeouts he should be reminded we are wearing red.

Telegraphs everything he does. A real project. What are his strengths?

He's played aggressive which has resulted in either a trip to free throw line or turnover. Still learning and still really like his potential.

Sorry Dave was not trying to come at you . Aggressive is good. But he is often out of control. Most of his drives lead to no points. Some 1 point . Occasionally 2. I think he is over his head . Not saying he sucks. But he is still a long way from helping us win.

I agree with you that he's somewhat out of control at times. The window is open a little wider in high school than it is in college. I don't think he's in over his head but just takes some time to adjust. That 8 games missed hurt his learning curve. I think his lack of a role on the team isn't helping. Patience.

We should have patience with Ellison's growing pains. He's a freshman, and he's also a freshman who missed his chance to get his feet wet in the pre-season. He can put it on the floor, go strong and he can shoot the 3. This is the type of player you want in your program. It's not going to be an overnight turn around, but he'll get there. I still see some DJ Kennedy in his game.

Yes he can shoot the 3 but the real trick is getting them to go in. Which he hasn't mastered yet.  I like Ellison as a four year player and the DJ comparison is apt but 4 turnovers and 5 fouls in 15 minutes is awful and no one should kid themselves that it isn't. He was a disaster yesterday.

Most kids, even talented ones aren't great as freshman. You can tell Ellison has skill but he's very raw.  He's going to a nice bench piece for us I think once he develops a bit more.

It especially gets annoying when you watch Gtown and Butler guards swishing all their FTs.

I like Ellison though, I think he can make leaps and bounds next season as a soph.

Watching this team is like going to work. Do it now because it feels like my job. Of course if you like ugly basketball it is quite pleasurable.

So what if it's awful? They are all bad. The point is to play the freshman and let Johnson, M'vouika and Jones sit on the bench where they have clearly belonged their entire careers.
