I admire Mussini's grit and toughness, but I have to admit that he's been exposed as not ready for Big East competition. He's an outside shooter who's not hitting his outside shots, so he brings very little to the mix. Threw a few nice passes today off dribble penetration, but when a shooter his size who plays defense the way he does isn't making shots he can't be on the floor.
Going forward, he may be a situational player who can get spot minutes in certain matchups, but his outside shooting has to be over 40% to even fill that role. He can be useful hitting free throws late, but we need to be protecting a lead for him to help us there.
Right now, his confidence is shot and he's physically beaten up. Got to hope that he comes back next year as the outside threat he looked to be in the Syracuse game and that he's learned something from having his ass kicked this year.
