It's great to have a guard who can hit free throws and ice a game, a skill that will be greatly appreciated next year when we are actually leading in games in the last 5 minutes.

Abe Keita was limited. Mussini can handle, pass, shoot, drive, and rebound (for a guard). He's a stick figure and he's not a good defender. Let's not get carried away with a true freshman averaging double-digit ppg at 160 pounds.

He has a handle? Where is it? He can drive? Yes, against Wagner he could. In the BE, his dribble drive skills have not been there. He can help them win games, but right now he makes his free throws. There is nothing else he does consistently.

Agree.  Mussini is part of the foundation and the recent, relentless criticism is misguided given the situation.  His skillset is not properly put  to use with this roster - he's the only natural guard (SG or PG) on scholarship. Truly incredible

Mussini's situation is unfortunately similar to Phil Greene's.  They are playing starters minutes despite not having starter-level skills.
So saying he's a double digit scorer is more a reflection of how awful this team is, then it is a statement of his ability.

That said, I think he could develop into a nice backup guard. 
I really don't see the floor skills at all, but he can shoot.
So he has at least one A level skill to work with.

If Mussini wants to work for it, he could develop some of the PG skills that he doesn't have. Greene just didn't have court vision. That was his biggest weakness. He was careful, and he didn't turn it over, but he also rarely actually ran the offense. Mussini isn't a great passer by any means at this stage, but he could improve. He doesn't have to be Omar Cook to be a guard that can become a PG. He needs to work very hard to get there.

He has a great shot, is sneaky quick going to the hoop and has great court awareness.  Unfortunately the team as a whole needs a year+ to have the experience and familiarity with each other needed to have a cohesive offense.  When this happens, about mid-season next year after freshmen blend in, Mussini will be valuable because of these attributes.  He will be important in the guard rotation and, I expect, either the first or second PPG man among the guards.

Don't know how much more he can develop. You can't teach speed or height and he doesn't have the frame  to muscle up. it was terrible seeing him run down on the breakaway layup attempt. And I can't see his pt increasing with the skilled guards we have coming in. Yes he can hit some stand alone 3's when the opportunity presents itself, and free throws. Not meaning this in a derogatory way but don't be surprised if we've already seen the best of Mussini.

Yes he can hit his FT's which we know are important

And he did not look particularly good tripping over himself getting back on that break. He did get up both times though. The good thing about freshmen is they rarely get worse. Except Reggie Jessie obviously.
