Nobody cares about this loser. Are you calling Slice a loser or the author of the article..?I'm calling the guy who came to St.John's, accepted a long term deal and bolted before accomplishing anything a loser. Actually, he's the biggest bust in the history of St.John's basketball. Whoa. Coming from Poison, this is a pretty damning title knowing how badly Felipe not becoming the next MJ ruined Poison's life, and knowing ALL of the busts that we have had....

If you consider the expectations that we had for Slice, he met none of them. Felipe needed more time to learn the game than we thought he would. There was obvious talent and effort there, but it took 3 years before it came to together for him, but it did come together in the end. I am hard on him, because people look at his cumulative statistics and consider him an all time great. He isn't. Slice doesn't have anything to show for his time here. That's why he's #1 in my experience as a fan.

Yes, it does. You are putting too much emphasis on who heads up a recruitment. Matt A is essentially a cold-caller. Mullin as head coach and Slice as associate head coach are the closers. Matt A would have been better served letting his hard work and recruiting speak for themselves instead of trading info for recognition in articles and tweets. That is bush league and gets under the skin of guys veteran coaches.

Not at all. I think he's great for a program like SJU. He should let that speak for him instead of stooping to quid pro quo with narcissistic "journalists."

Sorry Slice left. Happy Matt stayed - even though I will at some point probably have to learn how to spell his name. That he has a cordial relationship with the NY Post does not seem to me to be a negative. If BR leaving alienates dinosaurs like Dick Vitale and Hoops Weiss, well, I'd rather have the 23rd ranked recruiting class in the country than their good will. Once Mullin starts winning they won't be slow in sucking his cock, with or without Slice.
Matt is doing an excellent job.I guess you can say Slice was so great in Kentucky because he had the best closer in college basketball Coach Cal.Because if Slice is so great how is Cal thriving in Kentucky with out him.Part of the reason is Slice wasn't the lead recruiter

Are you calling Slice a loser or the author of the article..?I'm calling the guy who came to St.John's, accepted a long term deal and bolted before accomplishing anything a loser. Actually, he's the biggest bust in the history of St.John's basketball. So your friend comes to you and offers you as big job in your hometown and you accept. You start work and the job turns out to be not what you expected and you and the person that hired you are not happy with the situation. You and your friend agree that it is time to move on but the matter of the money you agreed to has to be negotiated. You leaving this situation makes you a loser..?THE great NYC recruiter comes home, recruits no one, and then leaves. You may not like Matt's tactics, but you have to give him credit. He is much more than a cold caller, he is closing. I think this is more to do with Mullin than Matt. Mullin and Slice are long time friends, yet he is the one who is leaving not Matt. This is not something that came on over night. It's been festering for a while and apparently Mullin has Matt's back more so than Slice. He essentially chose Matt over Slice. I think that speaks volume's about what Mullin believes Matt can do for this program.
