Real curious to see how this plays out since Lavin hatred still pretty fresh. Might be an upset here knocking off Jarvis

Jarvis and it's not even close. Entitled, obstinant and complacent.

I used to park next to Jarvis Tuesday and Thursday. I was always illegal. He thought that was funny. I only got 1 ticket, which I didn't pay. The Barkley teams were fun. Had great times at the garden. Also great watching NY guys. The fun only lasted a few years. But I have no hate for him.
I am 37. Don't understand how a St. John's fan my age can hate Jarvis and Lavin. But some like 1-17.

Fran -- he is the one that could have been great among all of them, but it's his own fault he wasn't...and the programs he was attracted to werent all that great either.  Jarvis was coach during some of our best years, and the incidents wouldnt have happened if he wasnt fired.  You cant hate a guy for trying his hardest but just not being up to the task  -  you hate the guys that hired him and kept him - so Norm is out.  Lavin could be in Fran's camp but Fran was more talented, IMO.

Not like we have a game tonight or anything. I don't hate Lavin at all, would be Jarvis.

I hate to say it but my favorite coach was Fran

If him and the school did not have a fall out I think we would be a top ten team every year

He could coach and recruit with anybody to bad he was such a nut

Completely agree with Baldi.   Jarvis and Lavin are 1a and 1b

Fran is an idiot who otherwise could've done some very special things here.
Mahoney was in over his head, but the administration should've gone outside for Lou's replacement.   Not his fault.  Nobody had the balls to go for a real coach.
Norm just wasnt up for the task.   But he wasn't lazy or full of shit.  So he doesn't reach the top level of douchebaggery.

I agree. Cocky also and messed up affiliations w NY HS coaches. Re, Lavin he wasn't that bad. Probably an average coach. A little too much BS and failed to balance rosters and have enough depth, but we had 20 win seasons w him and 2 NCAA appearances. The problem is he wasn't paid 2 million a year for mediocrity.

Yet, players improved on his watch, and the team competed. He lost his way towards the end, but he was not responsible for what happened to our program. That honor belongs to another person.

Norm never took responsibility for anything that he was responsible for. Everything was always someone else's fault.

Think these pussies would play this bullshit defense if Jarvis was coaching them?

Considering all the vitriol aimed at him, real disappointing showing for Lavin . Program's 2nd most successful coach the runaway winner
