I would trade Jones and Williams for a steady grad transfer PG who can break the press as a Lovett hedge.  I'd also seriously consider banking a scholarship - we have at least 8 guys are that absolutely part of the long term future who will require real minutes next year.  Depth is there already, and the optionality may be appealing with Matt A's history with transfers and/or Slice trying to swing for homers in the '17 class.

Amar just posted his end of the year social media post and hashtagged #unfinishedbusiness. I honestly think Mullin would have to force him out for him to leave.

if Mullin wants to really rev up the momentum and pretty much insure his job for the next 3 years even more

Mullin's job could not be more secure, for as long as he wants to keep it. No dopey recruit has anything to do with it.

Maybe he thinks Lavin is still coaching. Was there anything about unicorns or hammers?

Well I don't want to see Jones transfer.  He showed what he is capable of doing yesterday.  Marquette couldn't stop him.  Everybody should be hoping he spends his final year here.  Having an upperclassmen like that can really help us next year.  I don't see any of these guys leaving.  Just continue to add talent and we will be fine.

I agree re Amar being the least valuable to the team re ability. But, he is a great ambassador to our program and helps w the Euro connection. Never thought I would say this before the season, but I hope Jones sticks around. He is the only player who is built like a bull and is really improving. After watching him yesterday , we can use him next year and after we can use the open scholi toward the 17 class. Hope he stays, which I think he will.

Jones played a great game yesterday. One great half doesn't change my opinion of him.

70 points and 27 rebounds over his last four.

Four great games does not change my opinion of him.  :)

All senior years except Jones, who played ~300 minutes total of D1 basketball before this year and 125 over the past two. Sometimes the light bulb just goes on.

Lamont Hamilton 13.4 / 6.5
Brownlee 12.3 / 5.2
Cuffe 11.2 / 7.2
Glover 10.3 / 4.6
Jones 8.5 / 5.2
Orlando Sanchez 7.4 / 5.6
Justin Burrell 6.3 / 4.9 (BE 6th man of the year)

Or in case of Brownlee, clueless coach replaced with slightly less clueless coach with help from competent assistant

I don't think we get to call Lavin clueless in regards to Brownlee.

Clearly less clueless than Norm but then who wasn't

Jones just needs to play games. This season was like his freshman year. He needs to learn how to move the ball, and when to give it up. I think he looked great last night when other players set him up, but when he tries to dribble and spin through 3 players, it almost never ends well. A point guard will help him, as he will help all of them.

Lavin called out Brownlee as a player that he thought would surprise people before they even started practicing.

I meant maybe the Jones bulb lit. It often does for seniors, which is why any talk of throwing him over the side is silly.

Jones has a little Sean Evans in him with the dribbling of the ball. Cut down on what you don't do well and spend more time doing what you do well as a power forward.

Played real well last night and has shown potential. If we ended up with that 5th year transfer that someone had mentioned I could understand Jones wanting to go somewhere he could get a ton of minutes. If we don't get that guy I hope Jones considers staying and keeps building on what he did this year

He is the only one I think could potentially transfer

Hope all the freshman come back

Lavin called out Brownlee as a player that he thought would surprise people before they even started practicing.

To be fair he did that with nearly every player he ever coached, including Jones, who was as a freshman "special," "like wow"and "can post up as well as any freshman I’ve ever had.”

And everyone and their sister was the best shooter he had ever seen.

I know and agree about Jones.  I just can't ever resist taking shots at Norm.  It is like a candy bar to a fat girl for me
