I don't have any knowledge of Slice leaving but if he did I'd bump up Dan Matic over Mitch Richmond to be on staff. Would produce better dividends on recruiting trail.

Absolutely agree Dave.

I would have said Jones, but maybe not. He has improved. He still has a lot to work on. I think needs more game experience. He needs to get better at seeing the court and moving the ball. It's a glaring weakness. With Lovett getting some easy ones, he could be a lot closer to the Glover type of baller that we've seen glimpses of this year.

Maybe Amar? Maybe Ellison? Maybe Mussini? I don't think of Yakwe or Sima leaving, but you never know.

This may mean nothing, but  I cant remember a big man we've had -- unless were counting DJ -- in the last ten years who was a better passer than Jones. Not saying hes Pau Gasol but he has pretty good passing skills for a big man. Turns it over way to much but honestly I think hes the best play maker we have, or had.

Needs better court awareness. He gets stripped often.

This is because he's basically just played his first season. He'll learn how to make better decisions with the ball, but he needs to get on the court and play as many organized as possible. There is something there, but he has a lot of work to do from now until November.
Don't disagree...I have always been frustrated by his performance be cause, as you say, there seems to be something there...good post moves, big body...he could be one of those guys for whom the light went on as soon as he got out of his own way

And like Dave noted earlier, his defensive awareness is awful. He has no idea what's happening. He needs to play in more games. That should be his summer. He works hard, combine that with capable BE guards, and he will improve again next year. Not like Dom, but Anthony Glover is what I'd hope for. That's reasonable. He needs to become a player that can lead. He'll be the only senior.

Here's an off the wall idea...if he was to leave, how about hiring a basketball coach?  One that can actually, you know, coach the kids on how to execute real plays and get after it on defense...

Crazy, I know.

Are you questioning Chris Mullin and his staff? Look out.

"He's reliable. He's considerate. He's like your exact opposite."

"So he's Bizarro Jerry."

"Bizarro Jerry?"

"Yeah, like Bizarro Superman, Superman's exact opposite, who lives in the backwards Bizarro world. Up is down, down is up, he says hello when he leaves, goodbye when he arrives."

"Shouldn't he say badbye? Isn't that the opposite of goodbye?"

"No, it's still goodbye."

"Does he live underwater?"

"No."

"Is he black?"

"Look, just forget the whole thing."

I don't post half of what I hear.

People have been right people have been wrong. People i talk with are right more than wrong. This one was strong to me.
Remember who broke the Slice news

Where there's smoke there's usually fire.  Hopefully this does not mean he's leaving.  But it does mean there is bad feeling somewhere on the staff.  Losing Rawle was the killer.  Demoralizing.  Hope staff and program can recover.  The new coach recruiting  window closes very very fast these days.  That's why Willard had to cheat like he did.

Honestly when I first found out about him possibly leaving I wasn't angry or anything. Moving Richmond up would be a disaster. I didn't post that because I didn't want to argue. Real question, are 2 recruiters 1 to many? Can either slice or Matt coach basketball? I know Slice's record at Manhattan was not good, how did team play?

Are you really serious with this?  Can you be any more melodramatic than "losing Rawle was the killer"  "Hope the staff and program can recover".  Yeah, worst thing that has happened to this program over the last 30 or so years is losing out on some recruit!!!

If Slice leaves maybe they can get Grasso or Davis to replace him.

They need a young aggressive recruiter that can help Matt and know the city.

I have no knowledge of Slice's status, and while I do find it a bit odd, at least so soon... anything is possible.

I hope it's not true though...  Would it be a loss ? Possibly, but we also haven't seen enough say that it's a definite huge loss.  .. If a coach or player wants out and has better opportunity, let them go and move on... Not every situation is right for every person. Same for a recruit, If a kid doesn't want to come, move on.

Reminds me a bit of that famous Jack Welch quote " If the rate of change on the outside, exceeds the rate of change on the inside...the end is near".

I won't believe it til I see it. Slice is here as of today and that's all we know. Besides I'm more concerned with in-game coaching than I am with any other aspect of the coaching staff right now including recruiting which is Slice's strength.

Slice and Matt A do not get along, that's for sure. But both should put on their big girl panties and make it work.

It's great that you're there to rip on someone after they post something you disagree with. That, and everything else you contribute, such as, oh wait.

Is it like two big time real estate agents fighting over listing?

If they are both on the road & phones enough they don't need to be best friends...Just work together.  Maybe it's their perceptions of who we should be targeting or who we are capable of landing or who goes after them.

Our Coach/GM/CEO should be able to solve one way or the other if there is legit problem
