OK board so if Amar and CJ are out, how do you distribute scholarships between 16' and 17'?

How many scholarships are then available?

Is the Spring Signing period's remaining 2016 HS senior class and transfer market pool deep enough to validate two additional scholarships to this current crop that we have coming in?

If those two were to leave we would have 3 ships open for this spring and all of next year. Meaning that no other ships come off after next season, unless any of the used ships go to grad transfers. It is my preference to have at least 2 ships for next year.  So that would mean 2 out of these 3 have to either go to a grad transfer or stashed, but IMO I dont see this staff stashing ships. Should be fun to watch. And by watch I mean Paultz avatar.

Matt told a room full of fans before the Providence game that they were always looking for ways to improve the team, so I expect them to add talent. Just hope that it can be talent combined with some experience as well.

Hey, he also said we'd have a top 10 class for 2016.  Frankly I love that we have a recruiter who has some balls and takes it personally.  He's aiming for a top 10 class so falling "short with top 11-15 is more than good to me.  We need killers like that.

All well and good but he's often too loose with things he says.

Just curious, what has he said that he shouldn't have?

A couple of guys are most probably leaving, but not building blocks.

Continue to impress with your picture discovery skills

Not a transfer but I heard from someone we might be adding a Greek freak to the mix? Hear anything on that Paultz?

If it's not a transfer then why is it in the transfer thread on both boards?  You guys are always playing with us.  I'm busy bothering Paultz about Greek transfers since Freak 3 is not a transfer.  Sorry.

Yea because no has ever gone off topic on a thread........................................................

What he apparently said to Zach b about alkins, for one

I'm probably in the minority on this board, but I'm still hoping Amar sticks around.  He didn't take the big step forward that I expected of him, but I still think the guy has the potential to be a pretty good player.  Needs to work on his shot's consistency, but he's an adequate rebounder and is not afraid to mix it up on the defensive end.

Will he ever be a bonafide starter?  The jury is still out on that one.  But I think he'll get better with age.

I hope he sticks around too. Unless we need the ship for someone that would be a major improvement. He had a really good attitude, and we'll need some upperclassman leadership. He'll never be more than a back of the rotation guy in the big east, but I think he could be really good in that role as a senior. Come in for 5-10 mins knock down a three, play with some energy, fire up the other guys sort of role. If he wants to play a lot and develop as a player, he's probably better off somewhere else though.

Kid has a great attitude, but that's the right move for him and the program. I wish him nothing but the best, as should everyone. Great kid.

Good for him. He is better off playing a level down. I think he could actually be a productive player at a mid major. Always had a great attitude about him, wish him luck.

Wondering if this has any impact on Mussini seeing as they were very close and the "European connection"

Good luck to Amar.

But this team needs something better, even from a role player.  Same for CJ.

Losing Amar hurts. He was a good teammate and recruiter, plus he was one of our biggest and strongest guys. If Jones leaves as many believe, we are left with the skinniest team in the Big East. Hopefully the staff can being in a strong transfer since  our strength and conditioning staff can't do what every other staff at top programs does.

Pretty selfless of AA to actively recruit RF, who plays the same position, knowing he is likely to transfer.

It won't. He is closer with Sima from what i understand also knows RF. Like any one of the other guys I am sure he will be upset to see a teammate go but this won't effect him.

Loved Amar's passion and spirit -- a very good teammate -- but none of Lavin's 3 holdovers were Big East caliber players.  Faced with a decreased role going forward, he opted to choose a school where he can be featured.  Good move, as he probably still has a pro career waiting for him back in Europe, but sitting on the end of our bench next year was not going to help him.

Will miss him because he was a high character kid, but we need to get better talent before we will play better ball and compete night in and night out in the Big East.

Next year's team should be considerably better.  Still more changes coming, and now we can bring on a couple of high impact grad transfers to contribute immediately if the staff decides that's the best way to get better faster.
