Jones reminds me of Friend I have. In little league he was great because he was bigger, faster and stronger then Everyone. In basketball he was unstoppable . The first time I beat him in 10th grade I remember being really excited. By 12th grade when we all caught up to him physically he still could occasionally score because he was athletic, but his team always lost because he had no clue what to on defense. He didn't box out. His team always lost . As we played pickup often in college we never called him, because even though his skills were fine. He didn't know how to play. I don't know what the word is for Christian jones, but he doesn't know how to play .
Anthony Glover wasn't great, but he knew how to play . I never want to Watch Christiian jones play again .
What was Dom Pointer before his senior year? David Cain? Just because there are holes in his game doesn't mean he can't address them. Remember, this was like his freshman year. He rode the pine when we had 7 players, and no size. I completely agree that he's clueless, but we have to remember there was no point guard on this team. Not even a back up point guard. I don't think any STJ's team has ever played a full season without at least 1 point guard.
And in regards to Anthony Glover, I liked him, but I think we forget that he would often put his head down and dribble right into a statue. Guy would pick up 2 fouls in the first 3 minutes of a game constantly. A good player overall, but far from perfect. Thing about Jones that we're not discussing is that he didn't start playing organized basketball until he was in high school. I could be wrong, but I think he may have only played 1 or 2 years before college.
If he leaves, he leaves. We wish him well, and we move on. But seniors are seniors, and without him, our most experienced players are guys who barely have any experience.
