How come they aren't going after the guard from Delaware

Lovett and Ponds are both under 6 feet (Listed as 6'1" but let's be real..) and Mussini barely scratches the surface of 6'1". We don't need any more players of that stature.

Shamori definitely not under 6'0", but it has nothing to do with a team's success.  Most of the national champions over the last 10 years won with backcourts under the 6'2" mark.

It has nothing to do with success but it does with defensive liabilities and matchups.

Is it hurting UNC this season with Paige, Berry and Britt all under 6'2"?  It's more about speed and skill at the college level.  Didn't hurt Shabazz nor Boatright either at Uconn.  Like I said, look back at national champs over last 10'years. Majority won by teams with guards that are sub 6'2".  Defensive matchups size-wise more important in the frontcourt than the backcourt.  And defense?  John Linehan was one of the best defensive guards I've seen on the ball and was tiny.

Did you have to bring up that little waterbug

Not to mention Marcus Hatten, Erick Barkley, Darryl Hill, Boo Harvey, Dwight Hardy at 6'2" or under.  Looks like the fears of having a backcourt with a few 6-footers is mostly unfounded. Everybody wants a Jason Kidd but most teams Don't have guys like that causing mismatch problems.

Spot on. Speaking of mismatch problems, that Lonzo Ball kid is going to be a huge one for almost everyone he plays. 6'6 pg who can ball (no pun).

Lonzo ball is one of those Jason Kidd types that is the exception to the rule.  He doesn't belong in college ball and won't be for more than one season, guaranteed.  Very few out there like him.  Shamori pit up 40+ against him, but head to head, i, sure had no way of stopping a kid that size by himself.  Team defense would have to pick up some slack there.

Incidentally, if you watch the Lonzo ball vs Shamori highlights on YouTube, there's no way Lonzo is 6'5" as listed and Shamori sub-6-foot as some are suggesting.    When they are man-up, there's no way there's that big of a disparity.  Shamori probably close to the height he's listed at 6'1" because I do believe Ball is definitely 6'4"-6-6".

My words are being a bit misconstrued..

We already have three guards of similar builds in Lovett, Ponds and Mussini (I believe the combination of Lovett and Ponds on the court together will be great)..I don't believe that to be a disadvantage...but it could be in certain situations.

Not saying you have to get 6'7" PGs and SGs every recruiting cycle..but it brings some versatility and different dimensions in the court.

In other words: I'll take Justin Simon over Holden for the long run.

We gotta see how LoVett and Ponds play before we'll know if their size is a concern at all.

Does it matter?
Ponds and Lovett are going to play.  It's not like we have other options.   I don't see Mussini as a starter at this level.

Shamorie is as big as Paris Horne. He's not Myles Mack.

He's more Myles Mack than Paris Horne. Shamorie is 6'1 on a good day.

livingstons numbers look good (as long as he stops shooting threes).  scoring and rebounding like that could be a huge boost.  he went for 18 and 22! against arkansas little rock.. let's get this guy.

going through his game log, he also went for 7 and 11 against oregon; 20 and 5 against baylor; 29 and 11 against nd state; 20 and 10 against arkansas little rock.  so the kid put up good numbers even against some good teams... could be a great pickup.  and so little downside as a grad transfer

Don't know the full story about the cop punching incident, but on paper this guy makes a lot of sense for the Johnnies.  They'll still have a young, inexperienced FC next year with Yakwe, Sima, Owens, etc.  Bringing in a grad transfer like Livingston would definitely help bridge the gap.

If he punched a cop our new and morally sound staff wouldn't recruit him. That's something the last staff would do.

If this kid did in fact hit a cop, we should want no part of him.

In the sleazy world of college ball, We might think differently if he was a top talent. We won't make the tournament with him, so let's pass

+1.  He's got a felony charge for hitting the cop, and 3 misdemeanor charges too.  Next court date is in June.  Makes no sense.

Boise St. would be a good destination IMO.  I wish him well.  I think he could have been a very solid contributor here the next two years.  10 mpg or so was really the role he should have been playing.  Hopefully he'll turn into a player we'd like to have back.

The best defensive player in BE history is Patrick Ewing.
