Conference USA really got hit hard by the realignment, their champion was a 15 seed.

AAC has only 2 teams left, and one still to play tonight in Cincy.  Big East easily a much better ball conference so I think we know how that shook out.

Isn't it such a wonderful thing to see Kentucky and the traitor Briscoe go down in flames?

I like to see solid guard play and/or aggressive foward rebounding........what it takes to meet the level to even play in the tournament.......

I'm very upset with the officials in the Butler-Virginia game. They gave let Gill and the kid from Monroe, NY, Tobey, do whatever they wanted but gave Butler nothing on the other end. That was my favorite team left in the field. Great showing by them in spite of the loss.

Think Rosie Jones can make the league?

Maybe the old NBA.  Not this touch foul version.

What?  It's called having an advantage and using it and forcing the other team to foul them.  Gill wasn't successful because of the refs but because Butler couldn't guard him.

And Brogden is a great player.  Butler has nothing to be ashamed of but Virginia is the type of team I love to watch.  Well coached (Tony Bennett is brilliant) senior leadership, Brogden/Perrantes/Gil, solid role players in Hall/Tobey/Shayok and they guard like it is the last thing on earth.

Just so impressed with what Bennett has done in Charlottesville.  16-2, 16-2, 13-5 in the last 3 years in the ACC.  2 regular season titles and 1 second place finish in a league with Rick Pitino, Jim Boeheim, Coach K and Roy Williams.

I know we are technically supposed to root for Big East for monetary purposes, but I really hate all of our conference rivals and the fan in me wants to see them all go down in flames after the beating they all gave us this year.

To Fordham's point, agree on Bennett.  One of the best young coaches in the game.  Virginia has their identity, he gets to play that way, and they do it well, consistently.

To FriendofJohnnie, I hear you.  Tough to root for teams you root against most of the year and on the recruiting trail.  I'm able to overcome that because it benefits the conference for our teams to do well, and that indirectly helps SJU with recruiting, TV money, etc.  But hard for me to pull for a Willard or Cooley who, in particular, I don't like rooting for.

He was pushing off almost every possession late.  They gave him an and one that basically iced the game late when he was wild and the defender was standing straight up.  Should have been a charge if anything, but an easy no-call given the already four-point UVA lead, the time left, and the clear shot he got off after the contact. They only called UVA for hacks on the other end late.  Being an official is a nearly impossible job, but there are some things that should  be easy like not giving Gill that three-point play late and then failing to call the exact same thing the next time down the floor for Butler...took away Butler's chance to win.

Bennett is a great coach...it's not his fault the refs weren't calling it evenly late.

Jesus that is just nonsense.  Dan Bonner nailed it when he said UVA made some mistakes late taking shots without getting Gill touches.  Bennet's move to go small with Gill changed the dynamic of the game.

They called it even someone who had a clear rooting interest is not qualified to argue what you arguing.

The Big East could really use a Providence upset here.
