Biography: Devon Collier a native of the Bronx is one of the many players deflecting from the empire state to play in the garden state. Collier transferred out of All Hallows High School to have the opportunity to play under the tutelege of high school legend Coach Bob Hurley at perennial power house St. Anthony’s in Jersey City, NJ.
Scouting Reports: Similar to Ashton Pankey, Collier is a big man who hustles non-stop and is a hawk on the boards. He has more of a pop to his step then his St. Anthony Friar teammate does. But, Collier still needs to improve on his outside game. Once his ball-handling escalades to a reasonable level, Collier will be one of the more difficult forwards to contain from pouring in points on the scoreboard. – Ray Anczelowicz Gotham Hoops (Summer 2009)
Collier is long and athletic and has used that length to turn himself into a good finisher on the offensive end. Needs to continue his conditioning and needs to become stronger. Can be lethal in the open floor as a wing-forward, but can become more of a complete player if he develops a jump shot. Will guard mostly PF’s. -Theo Rabinowitz (Summer 2009)
