Notes: Easily the best pure point guard in New York City. No doubt about it, Edwards knowledge of the games exceeds all expectations. His shooting has improved significantly since the end of his sophomore season. He now has added another dimension his offensive game. Edwards has the ability to drive by his defender or slow down and settle for a jump shot which is still a work in progress. His defensive intensity is great and extremely impressive. -Ray Anczelowicz Gotham Hoops (Summer 2009)
A full-court player that is masterful at running the floor. Edwards needs to improve his decision making and needs to mature defensively. However, he has really improved his jump shot over the summer and is shaping up to be a high-major prospect. -Theo Rabinowitz (Summer 2009)
Corey Edwards doesn’t have to do too much offensively for his New Heights team except distribute. He is more of a game managing point guard who won’t woo you with an array of moves but rather get the job done. He is better on the defensive end of the ball and you can tell he takes pride in being a defender. It will be interesting to see if he can come out of the shadows of the big threeJayvaughn Pinkston, Devon Collier, and Ashton Pankey to show he is more than just a game manager. I think he’d be a very good point guard for a mid major. He has more to prove if he wants to be a Big East player. -Dave Krupinski (Fall 2009)
