I was kicking it at Madison Square Garden outside the Knicks and visitors locker room, when I encountered J.J. Moore, who was with Coach Roberts prior to the Knicks/Sixers game Halloween night. The Johnnies know they don’t need ghosts and goblins in the gym to snatch the highly sought after recruit, seeing that they netted a solid recruiting class this season, underscored by Omari Lawrence and Dwight Hardy.
Still, the sight of Moore taking in the Knicks game with Coach Roberts is promising. Moore revealed to Johnny Jungle that his other visits included Louisville, amongst a few others. Moore is currently on an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh, which had much of their roster thoroughly cleansed last season (see Blair, DaJuan or Young, Sam for more on that one).
Moore is a 6-foot-6 wing who has sliced up teams on the AAU circuit this summer fall, playing for the NY Panthers. The Big East prospect plays alongside Russ Smith, another St. John’s target, at South Kent Prep (CT).
