QUEENS, N.Y.
(July 29, 2010) – RedStormSports.com, the official website of St. John’s University Athletics, unveiled an enhanced StormTracker All-Access multimedia player on Wednesday, providing easily accessible, higher-quality video coverage for Red Storm fans.
New player features include expanded video navigation controls, such as video jogging for fast forwarding and rewinding, and advanced search functions to help fans access desired content.
The new on-page video player interface is at a 16:9 aspect ratio, offering a full-screen mode, and is compatible with Adobe Flash-enabled web browsers.
Menus are now in a tab format and contain thumbnail previews of video items for easy navigation of content. Viewers can sort videos by publishing date, by sport, by featured channels or by live events only. Each tab offers additional filtering options to help viewers find their content quickly.
More advanced search features allow users to search by keyword or within a date range. Users can further narrow their advanced searches by sport, channel and category.
Also, StormTracker All-Access now makes it easier for fans to share their favorite videos with their friends and family. Unique public video links allow for easy link sharing while “Share” options within the video player allow users to send links directly to social networking sites. Fans can also send video links directly to friends with the “E-mail to a Friend” function.
Fans can log onto RedStormSports.com and subscribe anytime for the StormTracker All-Access online live (subscription) and on-demand (free) video service. Just click on the StormTracker All-Access button on the right side of the website, enter your e-mail address and create a password to use the service. The subscription for live events is $9.95 per month and $79.95 for the year, which covers video and audio for more than 100 live athletic contests featuring each Red Storm athletic program. RedStormSports.com also produces more than 250 free on-demand features annually, such as coaches’ shows, pre- and postgame interviews, player profiles, highlight packages and other items posted online each week.
“RedStormSports.com is coming off of a record-breaking year in 2009-10, breaking its all-time traffic record by more than 750,000 total page views and increasing its unique visitors by an average of more than 11,000 per month,” reported Ralph Bednarczyk, St. John’s Director of Multimedia Services. ”With CBS Interactive’s launch of our new StormTracker All-Access player, our tremendous selection of video content will be even more accessible to fans of each St. John’s athletic program.”
