BREAKING NEWS– Everyone has been on the edge of their seats waiting for Steve Lavin to assemble his “Dream Team” staff. Today JohnnyJungle.com has learned from a source that Lavin will name Tony Chiles, assistant coach of the Drexel Dragons, as his first assistant coach.
Chiles is a born New Yorker who played his college ball at Columbia where he is 2nd all time in assists (323). He started his coaching career at All Hallows High school and coached under Fran Frachilla at Manhattan. He then went onto Iona where he was an assistant for 6 seasons under Jeff Ruland.
He has spent the last 5 years at Drexel University where he has earned the reputation of being a strong recruiter as well as player developer.
