Richard Pitino and Kimani are really going after it.

“@BFlinnFuture150: Minnesota has offered 2014 PF Abdul Malik-Abu, per his AAU coach Ty Boswell. That's his 4th offer of the day. #BlowingUp”

Little Rick is going to be a great coach someday.  Watch him and Masiello IMO.

Watching their teams play, seeing how and who they surround themselves with and recruit and what others within the industry say.

Both learned from a master, RP, work hard, have good recruiting contacts and instincts and hire good folks.

The level at which Abu has been recruited certainly puts him in the top tier of prospects. He entered April's live period from offers from places like St. John's, Xavier, Providence, Maryland, Boston College, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Marquette and many others. Since his play in April, he's added offers from Kansas, Texas, N.C. State and Tennessee.

As a result, he's had to push back cutting down his list. But, his cut should be coming soon enough.

"The plan was to cut the list at the end of April," said Boswell. "Since then, other schools have come on strong. His game has risen and so has his recruitment which means heavy hitters are calling which changes the landscape of things.

"A list will be formed sometime soon."

Abdul Malik Abu (2014, Expressions Elite)- The power forward has been the rage this spring but had a tough outing last night in his team first loss in the EYBL.
After the game Malik Abu spoke about his recent visit with the Wisconsin coaching staff:
"It went pretty good," he told 247Sports. "They showed the game plan they have for me as far as who they are going to bring in around me. They said I'm a main target. They are highly interested in me."
Wisconsin isn't the only school with high interest. Malik Abu rattled off Florida, UConn, Kansas, Tennessee, Providence, Iowa State, Texas and North Carolina State as schools heavily recruiting him.
He plans to cut his list after July.

“@jerrymeyer247: EYBL Friday recruiting notes. Kelly Oubre says Connecticut recruiting him hardest. Arizona right behind them. http://247sports.com/Article/EYBL-Kelly-Oubre-Theo-Pinson-Abdul-Malik-Abu-Kameron-Chatman-130300

He's just rattling off names.  Let's see what happens when he pares his list in July to an actual list.

Providence and uconn seemingly lead the nation in recruiting "the hardest" at the early stages.  Clearly Lavin's approach is different.

Every kid in the top 100 is getting an offer from Uconn
