To the extent that Florida is dealing with COVID-19 it is almost entirely due to New Yorkers. The statewide order is completely unnecessary but everyone is afraid their careers will end if they don't  give the appearance of doing enough.  The virus can't thrive in 85+ degrees with humidity.

Everything you just said is wrong, or unproven. This is the problem now. Like I said, it’s time to cut the shit, and watch the real news. Despite the fact that people like you willingly signed up for this, I’d rather not see more St.John’s fans die. As it is, we don’t have many left.

States have the right to issue or not issue a statewide stay at home order.
And that’s the problem now.

Your stupidity really knows no bounds. New Orleans is one of the country's hot spots with double the death rate of NYC. In just the last 2 weeks they had an 85 degree day and a 100% humidity day. #Idiot

Since you evidently went to all three years of epidemiology school, in your expert opinion does hot weather cure people who have already contracted the virus, which has a week-ish lag between contraction, symptoms and contagion, or does heat merely kill the virus in the wild? #AskingForAFriend

Agree. I think Governors and all local representatives should lose all of their authority immediately. The federal government led by Donald Trump should take complete control of the country at once. All elections should be canceled and the Trump family should remain in control of all aspects of the country until all diseases and viruses are completely eradicated

Here's one synopsis in response to your question:

https://www.statesman.com/news/20200401/fact-check-will-coronavirus-fade-in-summer-heat

Bottom line is no one knows for sure yet since we've never had to deal with a Covid-19 pandemic before. However we do know the virus is spreading fast in New Orleans which has a climate similar to Florida.

Yep, all Trump's fault. Has nothing to do with China bioengineering this thing, letting it slip out and then lying and covering it up to the rest of the world until it was too late.

Yeah no. In the first place you said that the weather in New Orleans was currently warm and that New Orleans being a hot spot tends to prove that warm weather has no effect on infection, and you called Marrilac an idiot for thinking that it did. Whereas the temperature in New Orleans today would have no effect on contagion that took place weeks ago.

And in the second even the article you cited as proof of your mindless supposition doesn't prove your hypothesis:

“these kinds of respiratory viruses tend to go down as you get into the summer months,” Fauci told Curry. “we don’t know whether this is going to happen with this virus, because this is the first time we’ve ever dealt with this virus. So it’s not an unreasonable assumption to think that it’s going to go down.”

So Fauci says "it's not an unreasonable assumption to think that it’s going to go down," which is what Marillac postulated, Marillac who you call an idiot, who said exactly the same thing Fauci said, Fauci being who you cited as an expert to support the proposition that Marillac is an idiot.

An apology is in order. Let's see if you're man enough to offer one.

You want anti-establishment?
Well you f’n got it.

In January when Trump was presiding over the inaugural meeting of the Corona virus task force Nancy Pelosi was handing out impeachment pens.

In January when Trump announced a travel ban from China he was denounced as a racist by all quarters left.

In February in Trump's State of the Union address he talked about the danger of the Corona virus. Nancy Pelosi tore that speech up and pronounced it a pack of lies.

What you're watching in real time is the refutation of everything in which you dopey liberals believe: globalization, urbanization, unfettered immigration, open borders, outsourcing, one world government, endemic welfare, socialized medicine, it's a long list of stupid ideas you people have. And you're so blinded by your hatred of a silly game show host that you can't see it happening. Which I understand, I felt the same way about when Trump named Wink Martindale head of the Gestapo, I found him terrifying. On the bright side in a couple of short months you'll be able to take the Metro North to the polls and vote proudly for a senile inveterate liar plagiarist hair smelling child molester and his running mate, who I assume will be a completely unqualified dopey woman who eats salad with a fork, she having beat out a fake Indian, a socialist with three summer homes, Mayor Zoolander, a faux Hispanic furry, the very butch Cory Booker - who's not at all gay - various billionaires, Bill de Blasio - currently doing a bang up job presiding over ground zero of the world bat virus pandemic - the flatulent Eric Swalwell, and white Oprah Marianne Williamson. And you'll vote for any of them, just as you proudly voted for Hillary Clinton, the most qualified serial grifter in the history of this country and her rapist husband, who you also voted for proudly, twice, because orange man bad.

When this is over Trump's face will be on Mount Rushmore. Book it.

You conveniently left out the end of Fauci's quote that I highlighted in bold above in which he stated "but you don’t want to count on it.”

Kind of an important omission that you left out, don't you think? So as I said before your incomplete reply remains exactly the same. We just don't know for sure either way. But what we do know about the current weather in New Orleans is based on factual temps and humidity over the last two weeks. My point stands. You lose and owe me honest, fully contextual replies moving forward. Anything less and you're being disingenuine.

Yeah, no, your point doesn't stand.

Marillac said "The virus can't thrive in 85+ degrees with humidity."

Which maybe he's right or wrong I don't know, but the Fauci cite you supplied to support your calling him an idiot based upon your expert epidemiological opinion says it's "not an unreasonable assumption." Even if you add "you don’t want to count on it,” which is a meaningless statement based upon the necessary corollary "you don't want to not count on it."

So to recap: you're wrong, twice now.

Sweden hasn’t been on a lockdown, but they do have a set of rules. I would assume one difference between Sweden and places like Florida, or Michigan is that in Sweden, they can count on people to follow those rules, and even to understand them.

I'm not a republican and to paraphrase Dutch in the Wild Bunch when he was asked "Are you men associated with the American army,” I'm not associated with anybody.

As to being in the line of fire, I live upstate, far from the petri dish* you call home and have been practicing social isolation since the late 90s. I'm willing to make my chances.

Anyway I've come to believe that this (the hysteria, not the disease) is a false flag operation designed to determine how much of their liberties Americans are willing to give up in exchange for a monthly $1200 government check and a false sense of security. Which seems to be so far the first, second, fourth and fifth amendments and the right to travel, work and grow your own food and maybe if Obergruppenführer Fauci is to be believed, the right to vote.

"Do you think it will be safe in November for voters to physically go to vote at the polls?" (Jake Tapper).

"I hope so, but I can't guarantee it." (Fauci)

Which is weird because the other day he said whether to hook up via Grindr is a personal decision depending on the level of risk one finds acceptable. Anonymous stranger butt sex good, voting bad. Speaking of not understanding the rules.

And you should know by now that if our military can kill an Iranian general with a drone that our government could easily take away your 2nd Amendment rights with a swift show of force. Eventually, it’s coming.

In terms of the virus being used to take away civil liberties, it done. And frankly, look at the mess this country is in. Freedom should be taken from these animals. I just hope it’s done with the force I’ve been dreaming of.

I mentioned the park because there's 100+ towns and villages there, all of which are evidently incredible.

We're going to have to agree to disagree, because we clearly have different definitions of shithole. Certainly there are places upstate - Gloversville, Amsterdam and the like - where the quality of life has disintegrated with the loss of manufacturing. And there are places like Schenectady and Rome that are just awful. But OTOH there's Cooperstown and Cobbleskill and Sharon Springs and Ballston Spa Lake and various other Lakes - Saranac, Placid, George, Schroon, Long, Indian, Saratoga, Round, and the Fingers - and any number of other places where quality of life - which I measure by population density, cost of living, crime, abject poverty, and taxes - is far superior to most of the six downstate counties where the garbage dumpster quality of life conditions are destroying the US economy to the benefit of a bunch of progressive hipster doofus man-bunned barristas from Williamsburg. If your exemplar for high living is Loudonville - which is essentially Syosset on the Mohawk - we're definitely not going to agree, because I'd rather live in the village of Nassau in Rensselaer County than nearly anywhere in Nassau County and I grew up in Laurel Hollow down the street from John and Yoko. It was a nice neighborhood but I wouldn't go back, not even to visit.

Bit of a non sequitur - I wasn't referencing the park qua park - and anyway NYC is tenth according to US News and World Report. DC is first. Of course I don't know how official these kinds of list are and US News and World Report is full of fake news and failing badly, so there's that.

You don't sound like a hiker, but the park is special.  Saranac and Placid are great but the rest of the hamlets and towns are mostly dumps.  Skiing is good, and cheap...and a handful of good golf courses.  Drive on rt 5 out to buffalo if you want to see shitholes.  It gets worse every year as the remnants of industry leave.  Great old homes falling into disrepair abound.   And downstate is amazingly successful but too fing crowded, which is why Im in Saratoga since the 70s

Unfair. Universal healthcare is a human right that was guaranteed to all by Nancy Pelosi. How about a compromise? People in rural America can do what they want and after the feds blow up the bridges and tunnels leading to NYC citizens there will be confined to their homes by the national guard under martial law, since people in New York are in the main the ones endangering our precious medical professionals, whose tireless dance routines are keeping America sane during these trying times. Don't worry, patriotic working Americans will air lift you deadbeats groceries and other staples, as they did to East Germans and other enemies of the United States after WWII. Similar measures can be taken to mitigate the disastrous effects of liberal policies in democrat paradises like Chicago, Detroit and New Orleans.

Florida is attached to New York by an umbilical cord this time of year. The fact that our #s aren’t higher is astonishing. This virus can’t take heat, sunlight, or humidity—like I wrote almost month ago.

The CDC and all the alarmists realize this has always been bullsh*t and they are scrambling to add #s. Deaths from the flu have miraculously stopped for the first time in recorded history and have been added to COVID-19. In the town where I live a 99 year old man died yesterday. Which that guy, RIP. He had no symptoms but tested positive for corona afterwards, hence his death was corona-related, which means the hospital where he died got $19K. Because there are no natural causes anymore.

Adding to the death toll has been incentivized. This entire reaction will be remembered as a crock of sh*t and studied for decades.

But you can’t say that to people or they will respond emotionally with something like “my sister is a nurse and saw a man take his last breath how dare you!”

There has always been an  undeniable correlation with being outdoors and mitigating virus spread and scope. This goes back in the medical literature well beyond the 1918 flu. But close the parks and beaches and force people inside where they can’t make sufficient vitamin D and where viruses thrive.

Yeah, I have trouble with simple logic. Nitwit.

The flu wanes in the summer and waxes in the winter. Apply your giant logical brain to that. Draw a conclusion and get back to me.

Tend to disagree (with one thing, not everything.) . In a normal environment this would've been studied. In this environment it'll be memory-holed. Oceania is at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.

I fear (relatively, as I'm somewhat old and have prepper levels of vodka, pork and ammo in my bunker) we've crossed the threshhold into a brave new world of forever survellience. Lock down means that every virtual communication you have - work and personal - is captured, catalogued and subject to consumption by the government. Drones are taking people's temperatures and measuring social distancing. Fascists like DiBlasio are encouraging citizens to denounce their neighbors - just dial 311! -  just as complacent French citizens denounced their Jewish neighbors to the Gestapo. Our liberties - the right to work, to grow your own food, to petition the government for redress of grievance, to assemble, to worship, to arm, to be free from unreasonable search and seizure, to due process - have been sacrificed to the greater good in exchange for a monthly welfare check. And the sheeple applaud.

In short, I think we're intecoursed.

When this alleged pandemic first started I thought that we were seeing in real time the refutation of everything in which the idiot left believes - urbanization, globalization, outsourcing, mass immigration, open borders, socialized medicine - and even the little things  like banning single use plastic bags to save the polar bears and mass transit because the ice caps are melting and we're all going to drown. It's recently occurred to me that these things were put in place so that when this sort of event happened a boot in your face forever wouldn't seem like the worst outcome. Because EVERYONE MIGHT DIE!!!!

than explain the virus in the southern hemisphere

I assume you meant "then explain" genius. If so I'd be delighted.

"The third and final thing that I think gets back to the question that many of you in the audience have asked of us, is about: Would this possibly become a seasonal cyclic thing? And I’ve always indicated to you that I think it very well might.

And the reason I say that is that what we’re starting to see now in the Southern Hemisphere — in southern Africa and in the Southern-Hemisphere countries — is that we’re having cases that are appearing as they go into their winter season."

-- Anthony Fauci

Ouch. That's going to leave a mark.

(1) You understand the Southern Hemisphere has the opposite winter as us, right? As we are leaving they are nearing. That is precisely when you would expect to see cases rise.

(2) Just to be clear, there are places in the Southern Hemisphere that have snow all year long. It’s not the Cayman Islands.

(3) The flu (and other viruses) never completely goes away in warm weather. The spread is just slowed by less than ideal conditions.

Just on point 3, if we look at the data from Sub-Saharan Africa (and exclude North Africa), wherein most countries' temperatures were 80 degrees and humidity at least 50 percent or higher from beginning March onwards, (although some countries further below in the Southern Hemisphere were heading into their winters as you mention) ... Over a span of now 50 days there have been 380,000 tests, 18,600 cases and 450 deaths. That is even less than NY state in a DAY (during the peak).

One reason is of course climate, another is that it is the least globalized region in the world, another is that they saw what was happening in China, Italy and US and closed their borders and had partial lockdowns, another may be their diverse exposure to some of the nastiest viruses and diseases such as Ebola, Malaria for ages now and having developed more resilient immune systems, so corona might be just a walk in the park ...

It’s nice to see Gretchen Whitmer, the Governor of Michigan and queen of COVID-19 alarmism, going maskless in protests with thousands of people.

What a 180. She went from not allowing people to say goodbye to dying loved ones or hold funerals for them after dying to throwing it all out the window overnight.

Two weeks ago when people protested her closures she fired back, “I am not going to succomb to political pressure or political demonstrations or social media pressure.”

She ended up doing that for the left. How cute.

Glad to see that you support the protestors.

I didn’t express a value judgment on the worthiness of the protests, but if you want to open that door....

9 unarmed black men were killed by police in 2019 while 19 unarmed white men were killed by police in 2019. Without searching, name one white person that was killed.

1,004 people were killed by police last year alone and approximately 10,000 over the last decade. Name one Asian. Name one white. Name one Polynesian. Name one Indian. Name one Hispanic. You can’t. Nobody can. Because only one narrative is driven by the media. This comes up every election cycle. They force it down our throats and don’t allow anyone to escape it.

Not only can I not name one non-black killed by police over the last decade, I can’t even vaguely describe the facts of any such death. You don’t find that even a little suspicious?

I can name one non-black person killed by police in my entire life and that was the GF of my best friend since kindergarten, Marcus Padilla, who was also killed.

As for George Floyd. That was a blatant murder and it makes me very angry to watch how casually the officer took his life and how little his racially mixed peers did to stop such an egregious abuse of power and disregard for human life. If it was up to me he’d be tortured to death.

The job attracts bullies and the powerful unions make it hard to fire bad officers.

I know you know Africa well but as a counter to that somewhat look at what'shappenin in Peru specifically Iquitos the largest most remote city in the world not accessible by road from the outside world and Peru has had one of the toughest lockdowns and way tougher than the US and iquitos meets your weather and humidity and has ton of diseases from the Amazon. Heck Im relatively sure I got something from the Amazon from bites yer and half ago and doctors still dont know what it is or was. And iquitos is getting it bad

So it had nothing to do with Nipple Rings sending infected patients back to nursing homes? Half of covid fatalities in NY were in nursing homes. But those f*ckers are renowned for their commuting in virus sharing tubes.
