Owens is a 8th man on a good team. Ellison maybe an 8th man. Ahmed I think will be better next year but honestly he has pretty much stunk and I would hate to play with him. Not sure this version of Ahmed plays on a good team.

Ahmed is averaging 12 points and 6 rebounds and shooting 40 percent from three. He's a very nice player now.

Was hoping those 2 transfers were a better option.

I have to agree with Bluto. Ahmed as a 6th man makes sense to me. I would start Simon at the three. Of course if Lovett leaves that goes out the window.

Isn't Simon allegedy a point guard? Everybody loves the player they haven't seen.

I saw him play once. I think was against Arizona ST. Love Pac 10 games. Son and wife asleep I go down stairs and watch a half of basketball or porn depending on my mood.
I think I saw him have his best game of his Arizona career. Scored 10 I think. Based off of one game and his ESPN profile coming of HS looks like better more polished Ellison. I think you can play him with the two guards.

Fwiw, a friend saw Simon this season in practice and thought he was more of a wing, said he has great speed, but enough handle to play the point occasionally.

Wasn't he a top 50 guy?
Simon and Clark were recruited and played for two programs that are light years ahead of ours. Based off that alone I am not going too far out on a limb to assume they will be 2 of our 5 best players.

Jordan, Pointer and Ponds were all ranked in the 20s by some analysts, however, we all know that the rankings are meaningless once the ball goes up. If Simon was really the 24th best player in the country, he wouldn't have been pushed out in Arizona.

Hopefully, he's just a late bloomer, and that ranking wasn't so far off. Jamal Branch was a valuable point guard off the bench as a senior, but he was nowhere near the mid 40s ranked guard we thought we landed. Lavin and company saw that as well, and recruited over him.

After this tough Nova matchup the schedule becomes more favorable and less elite from 1/19-1/25. DePaul on MLK, @Hall, @Prov. Bottom line after a series of losses it's shown that when Bash, Shamorie, and Marcus aren't collectively on their A games the team can't fill the scoring void. They have to pick it up as the leaders, improve their ball movement and shoot at a improved clip. When the team whips the ball around the perimeter they're at their best. I'm hoping to see this team compete this wknd and really attack the 3 games following.

Agent politics. Simon wasn't in that circle and was very easy to push him out of UofA.
