Again I have no issue with ineligible problems, it happens. Alternitive is go after "Norm kids". While I except that these things happen, I can understand why people coming off of what happened last season would be concerned by "NCAA looking into eligibilty" is mentioned. Why wouldn't people be concerned? Why would you just assume everything is ok? Obviously it is not at the moment. Will everything be cleared up? Hopefully. Would you bet your house on it? Why would you?

Because people are not reading what is being written by STJ (not Roger Rubin).  Classification not eligibility.  Pretty simple to me.  And I've asked people and they are not concerned with them playing its just a matter of how long they will be here.  All summer I heard 1 yr for Sanchez from ppl totally not related to the University.  Then you saw the mention at Midnight Madness.  Now this.  All adds up.

Did you read what you wrote? "People are not reading what is being written by SAINT JOHN'S" Would SJU really say um we may be having another little issue here? Weren't they claiming "all is well" right up to the point all the kids were ruled ineligible? Wasn't Lavin day to day all season long last year as well?

Again even if the worst happens I am not being critical. My only point to you was I can understand the concern.

If orlando is academically cleared but deemed to have no eligibility, someone didn't do their homework and/or we Were sold a bill of goods.  I'm guessing Marco could play and wait for the classification ruling but we are keeping him out for Sanchez optics.

Sounds like the right approach given what we know.

I've seen this question asked a few times but not answered:

If it's only a classification issue, why can't they play now?  At a minimum, they each would have at least a year left, no?
Is it that if their classification were to change, they would have other choices in what to do (e.g. go professional, change schools, etc.)?

Might it be as simple as an obscure NCAA rule that you CAN'T play till you have an official validated classification from the NCAA?

That might be the case for Marco but it seems like Sanchez might not ANY have eligibility left.  What's the penalty for playing someone without eligibility?  Forfeit?   I'm guessing it's not even possible to run a guy out there who might have ZERO years left.

I thought the question with Sanchez is whether he is a junior or senior?

Doesn't it make more sense that it would be whether or not he's a senior or he's not eligible?

How can you know you're eligible, but not know whether you're eligible as a Junior or Senior?
I dont know this, but could they be waiting to be "cleared"?  And Lavin is saying "Yes, we're waiting to hear back from the NCAA.  But, it's not because they won't be eligible due to academic issues or missing classwork.  The delay is over whether he's a junior or senior".
