^^ despite my silly pre season optimism of  20 wins.

With or without Sanchez?

And you can still be silly - still a shot at 21 wins :)

That was with Sanchez, CR.   I was being sarcastic.

 Love your optimism.

Failure would be pre season favorites to win BE and end up where we did.

Being picked 10th and making NIT, I wouldn't categorize as failure.

Was the last 5 games disappointing? No doubt.  Is the season a total failure?  I wouldn't go that far.

No I definitely don't think the season was a failure.    May have not have taken as big a leap as I would've liked, but not a failure.  I'm pretty optimistic actually.   Concerned about this goofy offense we run, but that's another issue.

My comment was in response to tiznow, who made the analogy to reporters who didn't criticize Norm for not succeeding after they picked the team to finish 10th.   Just because they expected him to do poorly, doesn't mean they shouldn't have called him out for it when the team then played poorly.

Fair enough, Desco.. The season ended poorly is an understatement.

The expectations of the reporters and the expectations of fans were not even close.  Most of us predicted 20 + win seasons.  They expected NIT without knowing that Sanchez would not make it on the court and that Harrison would be gone for the last five games.

They did not expect a young team to beat Marquette, Pitt, ND and a hot Providence team on the road.  They reported it as they saw it.
