I think this debate about how much Hooper will be used misses the point. I don't think a 3pt shooter off the bench answers our problems at all.
Why is it that our "shooters" have to be single-skill players, and other teams have guys that are relatively well-rounded but happen to be outstanding shooters?
Look at the 3pt leaders from the Big East, besides Hancock, very few have the limited skill set that Hooper and Marco exhibit. I see names like Cotton, Porter, Napier, Starks, Fitzpatrick, Southerland, and Fuquan Edwin. These are guys who can do a little of everything on a basketball court, but happen to excel at shooting.
A shooter off the bench isn't what we're missing. It's nice to have, but the deficiency I see is that the guys in our rotation who get the majority of minutes are (for the most part) poor shooters.
