LJ Figueroa - SG - Odessa JUCO Transfer - ST. JOHN'S

How are we standing with him.

This is the guy I want. Hoping getting any of these transfers doesn’t rule him out. Any idea?

LJ Figeuroa- Juco all American just committed to St. John's, per source. Plays next year. Has 3 years

Good pickup and he's actually eligible for next year so even better.

Although jucos usually need a year to adjust, I do think it's fair to presume he can step in right away and contribute. Really happy about this. Gotta give the staff credit for the past two days.

I really hate when people speculate on these kids' future. But I'm going to be a hypocrite. Is Trimble going to stick around? The log jam there is evident.

This kid is going to put us over the top, credit Matt for finding this diamond in the rough.

Kudos. Wing scorers are always valuable. Hopefully he helps replace some of Ahmed’s points while being a little more efficient.

Very happy w this pickup.  Will give us some much needed breathing room depth wise. Plus he had a great freshman year and has 3 years left.

I have no problem with this pickup, and actually felt we should target him once I saw his accolades and overall numbers, this season.

Fantastic pickup.  Scoring wing that we needed. This is great for us and he’s ready to play..  love his stats as a first team juco AA...

Of the 6 new kids coming in next year (3 HS seniors, 3 transfers) he is the best in terms of ready to play. 

Love it. Gives us a ton more lineup versatility and likely moves Dixon from starter to a scorer off the bench role which is probably more suited for anyway this upcoming season

Can't wait to do the LJ in Queens and the Garden for the next 3 years-

Of the 6 new kids coming in next year (3 HS seniors, 3 transfers) he is the best in terms of ready to play. 

Kid is a smooth player inside and out.  Great touch off glass. Very efficient per the numbers which is great.  A glaring weakness for us was a wing who could spread the floor.  Apparently a 7-foot wingspan as well per article I posted.

This could also help open up a pipeline to the Dominican national team talent that I believe has been on the way up lately

Could see him replacing Bash's 11 and 5 easily and more efficiently.

Love the combination of juco aa honors along with a top 100 hs ranking. The 48.2% from 3pt for the year in juco is insane.

Anyone know what was the reasoning for him going juco?
