Rich is going to be a amazing gift to this program, a virtual unknown to the common Big East fan at this point, they sleep!

Going to be interesting when half the board is burying him midway through the season because they expect him to average 15 pts a game right from the start

Least chance among the newcomers IMO
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Just watched the film.  Love his jumper/release, looks reasonably quick, showed some midrange game, a common weak spot.  It will be a mistake if he does not get 25M plus, even if he doesn't start, which he should.  Unbelievable upside.

Don't think he will get buried at all. Midway through the season most on board will think he is much better then he really is.

What position should he start at, based upon his utube highlight reel?

Well, what position does Dirk Nowitzki play?

PF, but I think the kid's handle is a lot better than Dirk's. Also we have a future HOFer in the Kevin Durant mold at PF already. Nice problem to have but it's a bit of a log jam. Hope neither of them  transfer.

Starters.....Freud at SF, Sima C, Yakwe PF, 3 guard rotation, Ponds, Mussini and Lovett, Ahmed off the Bench at forward and shooting guard if needed.  Freud over Ahmed as Freud is a better passer and better ball movement is a prime concern. I see Lovett and Mussini starting, Mussini off the ball should work.  Ponds as combo guard off the bench for possibly the most guard minutes, I believe he may start by midseason.  Plenty of Bigs left to whack  people as needed and hopefully rebound.  I believe Amar's hard work will make him 8th man.  Freud has the most potential, we will know how much by 2-1.

Ahmed is our best player this year.   He starts.  No question in my eyes.

Ahmed has faced no-D-JC defenses, shoot first ask questions later .  I like Freuds talent and background better.  Europe ball is much better at developing well-rounded players and this will be a big plus

Remember last year when Mussini was so good that he could have gone pro in Italy? The talent overseas, sans a few exceptions is pretty pathetic.

Europe does develop shooters. I'll give you that. I don't think you can point to one European country that has enough talent to develop well rounded players.

I am expecting 15 productive mpg and will be pleasantly surprised with more. I think he'll look like Gordon Hayward at times and a more athletic (SJU version) Max Hooper at others.  In other words: a freshman.  The kid looks like a future first rounder to me, but SJU has beaten me down enough to not get excited. At least we are in a position where he and Ponds don't have to be stars from day one.

Who are the stars from day one?
