Yeah, the kid is real good.  Even better part is he's added muscle to his frame, practiced with team for a year, and has been working with Mullin, Richmond and St. Jean.  I think he's gonna be great for us and very hard to guard for other teams.

Seems like everyone here thinks he has 4 years left as a partial qualifier, but I thought he burns 1 year as a partial qualifier. 

My understanding is that as a partial qualifier, he was academically ineligible, and thus cannot redshirt.  He wasnt an "academic redshirt", because that regime started this year.

Could someone with a good understanding clarify?

In year one individual is ineligible but is a student as he is in  years two, three and four as well as eligible. In the fourth year he  has completed degree requirement and is awarded the year he lost. Which is in agreement with allowing a student to utilize their four years of eligible over five years.

Technically he has 3 years of eligibility but if he graduates in 4 years he gets that year of eligibilty back.

There is a new rule for enrollees after 8/1/16...now they will call it an academic redshirt.
