Season Predictions
« on: November 04, 2016, 01:51:01 PM »
19-12 (8-10) Regular Season record.

2 BET wins, 1 NIT win, 22-15 season's end.

We advance past the first round of the BET and get to enjoy the wknd for a change.

NIT berth, a couple of upsets and disappointing losses. A maturing, enjoyable season.

Pretty much how I think it will go too.

Think we will beat one of Michigan State or Syracuse. I would rather beat Cuse, for the obvious reasons, but it could also provide some decent momentum going into a fairly soft first two games of conference play.

Otherwise I think we will get most of our Big East wins in the last 10 games of the conference slate and as you predicted, carry that over into the Tournament.

I predict:
-we are much more competitive and fun to watch.
-Lovett and Ponds go through some growing pains but by end of the year are one of the better backcourts in BE
-Yakwe and Sima progress a little slower than some will like.
-Mussini will alternate games where people on here claim he is the greatest thing since the invention of beer and that he should be deported.
- Mullin will diagram a play this year.
-Mullin will still sit on the table from time to time.
-We will lose a bunch of close games because this team really does not have someone that can get an easy basket.
-We will win 14 games
-People will be(unrealistically) disappointed

Post your own 31 game season prediction, followed by BET and postseason record. Let's spark some debate and good conversation, one week out it's time to state your claim!

15-16 wins with no postseason, could grab a BE T game with right matchup.

15 at the minimum, 18 if Lovett, Anmed and RF does their thing.

16-15(8-10 Big East) 1-1 BET
Incremental progress. Not good enough to be on anyone's radar going into 17-18 which is when we will really make some noise with additions of Brown, Simon, Clark and another freshman/transfer TBD(I expect Darien Williams to transfer out after this year).

BE 9-9, 19 wins, bubble team, NIT 2 wins, Should be dangerous by mid January, 1-3 VS Xavier and Nova.  A lot of young talent, particularly Freud and Bashir.  Backcourt will start shaky but excel by midseason

Optimistic: 19-12 (9-9) 2 BET wins, semifinal loss in NIT 23-13 final record (or however many wins a semifinal appearance would put us at)
Pessimistic: 12-19 (5-15) 0 BET wins
Realistic: 16-15 (7-11) Finish season 16-16 after a first round loss in the BET.

A good assessment especially about Sima and Yakwe.  14 to 16 wins and exciting games will be enjoyable as long as we see overall improvement/growth
