The ball comes off Sima's hands awkwardly.  It rolls off his hands.

Yep.  He just came to game too late in his career. Not sure he'll be able to over-come it.

Well I said before the game one of the big keys was slowing Bridges down. Clearly that is not happening.

Bridges is only doing that damage because he has 12 rebounds at the half.  We are clearly not stopping him on the glass.  Yakwe and Owens are the ones that need to slow that down.

Still way too early to definitively declare much, but I honestly think St. John's biggest weakness is on the sidelines....I know it's blasphemy , but it's true.  Learning on the job.

Beating a dead horse, but we need someone to coach the bigs.

We need some offense out of Ponds in the 2nd half. Seems like he's one of the only guys fighting for rebounds out there.

Very much in it. If we can only get something from the bigs on the offensive side this game goes our way. However thats a big if. A bunch of shots in and out, which could drop second half.  MSU is a 55% FT shooting team so that could come into play in a close game, even though they are better tonight.

Guards have to penetrate more, it could be the only way they get bigs to score with drive and dish.

Sima and Yakwe have improved by 0 offensively

I actually think Sima looks good. He's just missing some close ones. I'd keep pounding it inside to him. Yakwe is lost.

Bridges has actually gotten most of his points from Michigan State's halfcourt game.

He got 6 straight on Williams, who looks to nervous to be in this game at all. Horrendous blunder by the staff to put him on Bridges.

Getting out rebounded is in excusable, by the bigs.  Thats want, more than talent, IMO.  To go 2 for last 15 without our best scorer on the court for today's game, and be only down 3 is at least encouraging.

The problem is still his rebounding compared to Yakwe with zero rebounds and I thin Sima has 1.   Out frontcourt needs to hit the glass harder at both ends.  The shooting will come, but to let up 12 boards to Bridges alone thus far, with our frontcourt guys getting very few has gotta change.  That's just hustle.

Sometimes guys just don't have the fire from within.  No matter how much coaching a person does, a guy either has it or doesnt.  The only guy who has that fire is Amar, but he is such a liability.

I think the more we feed sima the more he is going to miss. He looks extremely uncomfortable.

That's how I felt last Friday.  I hope that's not the board motto the rest of the season.

Disagree. Yakwe and Sima just came to the game too late in their teens. That's why they have no touch. There is not very much you can do about that in 18 months.  Maybe junior and senior years.  It's not on coaching. They just don't have the touch.

Damn Ellison knocked that rebound out of Owens hands and resulted in an MSU 3
