I thought the opposite - that it's easier to shoot 3's against zone than man as zones tend to concentrate defenders nearer the basket leaving more room to shoot on the perimeter.
Mix up the defenses (between zone defenses and man). Also properly, played zone (especially, against a team who doesn't particularly pass or space well) can wreak havoc.
It would also play to our strengths due to our ability to block shots (there would be weak side blocked shots) and our knack for deflections and garnering steals. Ponds and Simon could create issues, per playing the passing lanes. Once again, it'll also give the team fresher legs down the stretch in ball games.
