The thing that bothers me most is how he just puts his head completely down as he drives to the hoop.  He has the ability to get to the hoop consistently and if he could just play with his head up more he would be able to see defenders and also see open shooters. That is the one adjustment I would like to see from him because he draws attention when he drives and could open up some of our good shooters but he rarely passes once he drives. Kid brings it every night though and i think he is one of the key guys this year and next

Article is spot on and it's great to see the improvement in his game. As for driving with his head down and not seeing the court this is what often seperates a good player from a great player. It's an ability, some can do it some can't. Maybe when he becomes more confident in his handle he can drive with his head up.

For a guy his size he needs to finish stronger at the rim.  Watch how many of his drives end with an off balance under handed layup, or a jump hook he just throws at the backboard.
Dunk the freakin ball.  You're 6'6 and a good athlete!

If it were that easy he would be Dr. J

Starts his finish too far from the hoop so he is not in position to finish with dunks. The whole potential v. kinetic thing I think :)
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Not to mention help defenders step in his way. It's not like they are escorting him to the rim.

He needs more polish and he can be a good player for us. He's just too all over the place. If he harnesses some of that, learns better body control and keeps his head up on drives then he should be improved for next season.

What I like most about Bash is his belief system.

Believes he can score on anyone at anytime form anywhere.  30 ft. from the basket double teamed? Not a problem.  In the paint driving against 3 seven footers?  Not a problem.

You can't teach this.  It's innate.

Plus he's sharing the basketball way, way more then when he first came here.  It's no exaggeration that he was shooting the ball practically every time he got in the Bahamas.

He's positioned nicely for a monster senior campaign.

Let's hold off on the love affair for a few hours, but I do think he and Williams have their best ball ahead of them .

Ahmed has been excellent this year.  He's stepped it up all season.  Even sometimes out of control, he comes back and makes the big shot, the big free throw, the big and-1.  He's a natural, basketball player and getting better too.  I have zero complaints.  He said hard to guard, and a tough kid.  Clutch guy.  Love that we have him another year.

I like Bash and I'm very happy to have him.  What happens today good or bad won't change that.

Ever get the feeling he's ever not giving 100% when he's on the court?  Me neither.  What more can one ask for?

Most impressed with the improvement in Ahmed's shooting.  Kid has to be guarded at all times.  I never expected his outside shooting to be as good as it is right now, and it should still improve.

Bashir named to BE Honor Roll, good for him! Next year he'll blossom IMO.

The potential is there for Bash, Shamorie and Marcus to average between 55-60 ppg next year.

They are at 47.6 ppg right now and a case can be made for Bash averaging 20ppg next year in the same breath as Shamorie or Marcus.

Add in a deeper rotation and another year of experience in Mullin's system for everyone and a the team's average ppg can explode from 77 (current) to 85-90 next year.

None of that would matter or even give any indication that we have a good offense.  We probably will just play at a fast pace and have a lot of possessions next year.

We currently play the 19th fastest tempo in the country per KenPom.  If we maintain that pace but score more points per possession next year, we increase our efficiency and improve our offense.  This isn't that complex

Exactly. Walter Berry, Bootsy Thornton and Marcus Hatten didn't need an adjustment period. Everyone else does.
