@Rutgers as part of the Gavitt Games. Disappointing
Well at least a chance to get revenge for the close exhibition game loss to them last season.  :(

It is, but it’s what both programs have earned.

Wish we were skipped instead.

Ugly matchup.

Well since RU will almost certainly be picked to finish last in the Big 10 by everyone this at least partly means prognosticators are not very high on SJU either.

Preseason 6th place finish is what I'm thinking.

Can't blame anyone for picking us 10th.

I'll be hitting the pavement over the George to Piscataway whenever this is scheduled. The RAC has been a house of horrors for us, this loss in particular was especially painful at the time:

I expect a easy win for us considering what Rutgers is bringing back, but The RAC is a intimidating home court when packed.

I can see not being confident in the team for 18-19, but to say we'll finish 10th and it will be worse without Ponds is where I lose faith that the writer knows anything about our team. Without Ponds, 10th is absolutely a realistic prediction since we'd be returning only Simon, Clark and Trimble.

Easy route for writers right now is to predict the worst for SJU, especially without Ponds.  I am sure many, if not all, with have a different view of team as the season gets closer and ponds back at school.

It's especially easy now that anyone who can type is considered a writer. This guy e.g. is a 24 year "sports fanatic" who produces content for some crappy blog for a penny a click.

If we have Ponds back I don’t think picking us 10th makes any sense. We have a very nice too 6-7 rotation. We are a little thin upfront obviously but to me the talent is not 10th place.

If Ponds returns this is still a very young and inexperienced team at the D1 level. Every single recruit is a wild card. I think 10th is extreme only because DePaul is in our conference.

Are we expecting a 6'4 or 6'6! star guard when he arrives on campus?

Cal 2-16 in conference. 8-24 overall.
Vcu and temple not much better.
I work close by and I will have fun. But why play in this shitty tournament? Maybe their will be 1500 fans.
Uconn playing Syracuse- sold out garden. Who makes our schedule?

Last year, we had the 9th toughest strength of schedule per KenPom.

But playing in the Barclays Center has proven to be a total zero for us.  I'd prefer we never play there again unless it is included in the season ticket package.  Otherwise, it will be very poorly attended.

It's a Tournament.  The event chooses the site.  Would you prefer they play in Boston?

This isn't supposed to be a "home game."
