Not a bad post Quan but in this day and age no one is fooled strictly by won loss record when they know your non conference wins are against a weak schedule. bama got in last year at 18-15 because of a tough schedule.
We are playing @Rutgers and @#2 Duke. We are playing Ga Tech on a neutral court in Miami and two neutral court games in Brooklyn against PAC-12 Cal and VCU or Temple. This notion that our OOC is weak or that we will suffer in the SOS and RPI is off base.
This team needs wins first and foremost. SJU never lacks in RPI or SOS when they are anywhere near the bubble.
I didn't know it was possible to look at our OOC schedule and think it's anything but absolutely terrible. The fact that Rutgers or Temple is our 2nd best OOC game is a disaster. Look at the schedules of the other BE teams other than DePaul and Gtown and compare them to ours. It's a HUGE difference.
Marquette: At Indiana, vs Kansas, vs Louisville/Tennessee, vs Kansas State, vs Wisconsin, vs Buffalo. That's 6 games tougher than our 2nd toughest game.
Xavier: vs Wisconsin, 3 Maui games, at Cincinnati, at Missouri. Also 6 games tougher than our 2nd toughest
SHU: at Nebraska, at Saint Louis, 2 of their Wooden Legacy games will be vs good teams, vs Louisville, vs Kentucky, at Maryland. Thats 7 games tougher than our 2nd toughest,
Providence: vs Wichita, vs South Carolina, vs Michigan/GW, vs Rhode Island, at Boston College, at Texas. 6 games tougher than our 2nd toughest
Creighton: vs Ohio State, 2 of their Cayman Islands games > Rutgers, vs Gonzaga, at Nebraska, vs Oklahoma. 6 games tougher than our 2nd toughest.
Weak isn't the word to describe our OOC schedule. It's atrocious.
Fact is there is exactly 0 margin for our in OOC because of how weak it is. If we are not undefeated heading into our 12/29 game vs SHU a 10-8 conference record will not get us in the tournament if we lose to Duke and go 1-1 in the BET
