Look, our guys complain about ok foul calls a lot but this is a joke. We haven’t gotten the benefit of the doubt once all game, and for that matter the whole season. It has been one job after another. I don’t care if Mullin is bringing it upon himself by complaining, that’s a horse shit way to deal with it.

this has got to be the weirdest best season they have had in a while. Team shows up when it feels like it for big games and then just says F it the next

If you think they’re saying F it you haven’t been watching.

Refs fault? Down 14. Superstar 4-14

Ponds defense is too good for these refs. Two great plays taken away from him and given them 4 fts in the process.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

I'm just embarrassed to be a fan of this team. I'm so sick and tired of this garbage.

How do refs allow a team to shoot 33 free throws vs 5??!?!?! How are refs allowed to control a game like that?!?!? That's Tim Donaghy suspect crap

I have watched every minute, live or on tv. How do u explain these types of games after big wins?  Not even competitive for most part. They have had a really good season. The bad loses have kept it from great. Also in some of these loses, they completely lose their minds. Constantly yelling at refs, t’s by players, and complete loss of fundamentals. Again, weird season for a team with 20 wins.

Seriously. Effort wasn’t the problem. Stupid mistakes early and their hot shooting gave them control. Their size, some iffy calls, and our lack of adjustments let them keep it. Not a team we can’t beat but certainly a team that requires a better game than this.

This game from the outset was played sloppily. Lack of fundamentals, almost as if they had nothing to play for. Then refs were making iffy calls and team lost it. 3 techs and fouls every time. Guards didn’t stay in front of their man. Lazy d. Team looked exactly like they did against prov. Bad matchup or not, they beat themselves from start.

We made some runs, but X kept extending every time and Marshall made some really difficult shots.  He played great for a guy who wasn't shooting it well until a few games ago when X started this run.  Credit to them.

I'm not big on blaming the refs.  But they were atrocious tonight and it impacted the game.  The FT disparity was insane and I can't believe it is because our guys were fouling that much more than theirs.  And I don't put this on the whole "Mullin complains all game" stuff when if you've ever sat near Jay Wright you hear him talk shit to the refs the entire game (and Nova most always gets a favorable whistle).  Of course the players need to maintain their cool but honestly I don't blame them tonight.

Yea lets knock Ponds who has been great for us for 3 years, is one of the best players in the league, came to us when we had our worst season in forever, banged up his wrist diving for a loose ball, and got a BS whistle tonight.  Great fan.

Maybe he can get kicked off the team for getting in a fist fight with a coach and we'll chalk that up to another coach not being there?  That's the kind of kid we'd want to root for.

Kids play their a&& off.  X hit some hard shots to maintain their cushion, our rebounding differential (which is the worst in the league) was a problem as a usual, and we didn't have enough fire power offensively without Heron, with Ponds having a bad game, and with horrific officiating.  Move on and get a W over Depaul so we go into X with a shot at the 3 seed.

And send a tape of game to the Big East officials.

I'm not big on blaming the refs.

I am. X shot more dead ball FTs than SJ shot FTs. Was it four technicals and an F1? What would the score have been if SJ had shot 30 FTs and X five? And at home. Good grief.

Good old Pat Driscoll. He used to earn $130K as a full time director of a youth BB league in Syracuse while refereeing 70 college BB games a year until he got fired for fraud. Now he's just a fraud. He's not as mobbed up as Tim Donaghy and he's not as drunk as Tim Higgins and he's not as awful as Jim Burr but put it all together and he's worse than all three of them combined.

I actually kept an eye on him throughout the game tonight. Seemed like every time he blew the whistle it was in X's favor. He was the baseline ref one time Ponds got fouled on a layup that went uncalled and Driscoll was the one that gave Mullin the T. I'm too lazy and not enough of a psychopath to rewatch the game and specifically track his whistles

At the end of the game, Clark took the ball about as cleanly as you can from X's player down low, and then Pond's clearly blocked a shot without coming close to touching the X player. Both were called fouls. This is after the ridiculous 2 Techs, and the bogus flagrant on Clark.

Unfortunately I think they had to call the flagrant. Seen less called.  But I absolutely agree on us getting shafted by the refs tonight. First 2 minutes of game ponds had an unbelievable block/steal that was called a shooting foul. Meanwhile he gets bumped left and right without a whistle.
