I'm praying they keep Gage in the game. It's 5 on 4 for us.

Correct.  Any D1 guard should be able to shoot the ball.  Hes wortless on the perimeter.

So you dont see any scenario where a D1 guard could be a poor shooter but still have an overall positive effect on the game in other areas?

Idk why I'm bothering, as I'm thinking you're just trolling.

A D1 guard should be able to do it all.  Thats why hes a d1 player.

Enough about this though.  We can have different opinions.

Lets talk about the game.  We are up here.

Yeah we are in it in large part due to Justin Simon.

Plenty of people on here have opinions I disagree with. You are wrong. Plain and simple.

D1 guards that can “do it all” go in the Lottery.

This is where, over and over this season, we've gotten comfortable with a lead and shot selection goes to shit. Good TO call by Mulin.

Have to give the coaching staff credit for the defensive gameplan tonight.  Mullin figured out how to shut down struss.

Congrats to the team. They just punched their ticket, IMO.

The key was putting his DII stud guard, Justin Simon, on him.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Must win and they took care of business. That should get them into the dance, possibly in the First 4.

As predicted. Now the stars suggest that a 3rd-time win over Marquette will happen in the third arena ...

Good game all around. Staff had a solid defensive gameplan. Still wish the shot selection would improve but baby steps. Going to be tough to beat a team like Marquette 3x

Great win. Good defensive gameplan, forcing the wrong guy to have the ball all night and great active help defense.

Everybody eats.

All about HS JV bench player Justin Simon. If he can somehow stumble into shutting down Howard again we’ve got a really good shot.

Simon was clearly playing with a pep in his step with his new title.

Being defensive poy will buy him some room with officials. It’s like when a guy like Brandon Nimmo gets a rep for having a great eye...they starting getting the close calls.

They get criticized fairly at times, but the staff's game plan and team's execution on defense tonight was great.  Simon shut down Strus and the roving zone with Ponds took Depaul out of their element.  Offensively everyone got involved and we made Depaul play the game we wanted.

We are officially dancing and I don't think it's in Dayton (which we probably would have been had we lost).  We are playing for seeding now and it would be so nice to get to a Friday night game, especially against Georgetown which you know the league is rooting for.  Ewing/Mullin on a Friday night of the BET would be unbelievable.

Really happy for the staff and kids.  They got the job done tonight.  Us fans should show up in droves tomorrow night to root for these kids to beat Marquette again.
