Final votes.  What’s going to happen tonight ?

I think it’s dependent on how much they factor in ponds and heron missing some games we should have won.

We're most likely in and playing in Dayton. The Ponds/Heron factor means nothing. Futhermore if you wanted to use that as a metric for getting in or not, then the committee could just as easily use an even more powerful metric like losing 6 of your last 8 games heading into the dance. Every team deals with turmoil throughout the season. We're in because the bubble is Charmin soft this year.

i think we sqeak into the last 4. but most bracket predictions have us one of the very last two in. It will entirely depend on what criteria the committee weighs heaviest

They take into account injury.  What do you mean it means nothing?

They take a lot of factors into account for every team. If you want to account for that then there's a lot stronger factors you better be willing to accept like late season losing swoons which this team is guilty of.

Espn lists as one of their ten questions about injury this am and specifically mentions us.  Not sure why you wouldn’t think it could factor in.  It helps us if they do.

I can’t remember a season on the bubble I would be as understanding of ncaa about being left out as I would be this season.  Just doesn’t feel like we deserve it, and having the second to worst NET of all bubble teams is not going to help.  We need them to take into account the injuries.

Every bracket has us last four in. I think were in, but so many other deserving teams should be ahead of us.

What are you basing this off of?

It does not mention that in the link you posted. Furthermore that link is not the bible for the committee evaluation process as you're trying to suggest that it is.

These are just some of the major questions that the committee has to deal with as in any other season.

Of course they factor in late season swoons as I said as those are wins and losses which trumps all hypotheticals like if this guy played against DePaul, for example.

If they didn't factor in late season losing skids then why did Bilas keep saying last night that Duke would have most likely not have gotten the overall #1 seed if they didn't win the ACC tourney which is accurate. The committee wouldn't give them the overall #1 (which I think they'll get) because they said they lost Zion for 5 games leading up to the postseason. And that's a lot more powerful example of injury factor than Ponds against DePaul.

One thing going for us is that there are only one or two teams that have potential to knock us completely out. The bubble is extremely weak with a 17-15 (Indiana) and a 16-16 (Texas) team in Joe Lunardi's "First Four Out."

No shot either of those teams are picked over us.

Do they take into account when a player on an opposing team was injured?

We’ve been hurt by injuries and we’ve been helped by them, too.

I think finishing 7th in conference hurts. I can see them giving that last 1 or 2 to a mid major like Belmont, because of the bubble being weak AF

I agree with this as far as Texas and Indiana are concerned. However, the committee may view this season as the perfect opportunity to try to show they don't hate mid majors and throw a Belmont or UNCG in there at the expense of a power conference team.

One other thing to consider... The NCAA Tournament is a business and it makes it money through TV. Maybe, just maybe the powers that be see this as a chance to get the play-in game TV ratings a bump by having a NYC market team in there. Maybe.

Haven't looked at the underlying data, but how does a team like Temple with a similar OOC, similar overall record, weaker league and only a single Quad 1 W have a better case than we do with a record of 5-3 (really 6-2) against teams that will be in the field? 

I saw us jump ahead of Temple in bracket matrix this morning and maybe their Quad 1 record versus our Quad 1 record is the reason.

I've thought we would be OUT by a c*nt hair since late night 12/29/18.

That changed this week when I read not one but two articles in the Ny Post by two different writers that said in unequivocal terms after the Depaul victory that we were IN!

They wouldn't write that if it weren't true.  That would be the height of irresponsible journalism.
