I watched the Ncaa tournament selection show with my own eyes and saw St. John's selected as a participant in the 2019 Ncaa tournament. Your negative nonsensical talk will not diminish my enjoyment of this marvelous accomplishment in the least.

Yes your eyes didn’t deceive you, they are in the playin line. The line that is reserved for two teams to play for the right to claim that line. They need to win to stake claim to the line.

I don’t know why this bothers you. They just need to win, which they should, to play in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Is that hat not a true statement?

Let's put this nonsense to rest once and for all. Here's some nuggets from Ncaa.com:

"Of the 68 TEAMS IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT FIELD, 32 got in automatically as conference tournament champions.
Games start with the First Four on Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20. THE TOURNAMENT WILL THEN BE DOWN TO 64 TEAMS."

"Here is how the 68 TEAMS ARE SELECTED EVERY MARCH FOR THE NCAA DIVISION I MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT, commonly known as March Madness.
Each member of the Division I men's basketball committee evaluates a vast amount of information during selection process. Their opinions -- developed through observations, discussions with coaches, directors of athletics and commissioners, and review and comparison of data -- ultimately determine selections, seeding and bracketing.
There are three phases to the process to determine the 68 TEAMS FOR THE TOURNAMENT:
I. Select the 36 best at-large teams;
II. SEED THE FIELD OF 68 TEAMS; and
III. Place the teams into the championship bracket."

Below is a list of the NCAA participants by conference, with the automatic bid recipient in caps.
Big Ten: 8 (Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, MICHIGAN STATE, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin)
ACC: 7 (DUKE, Florida State, Louisville, North Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech)
SEC: 7 (AUBURN, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee)
Big 12: 6 (Baylor, IOWA STATE, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech)
American: 4 (CINCINNATI, Houston, Temple, UCF)
BIG EAST: 4 (Marquette, St. John’s, Seton Hall, VILLANOVA)
Pac-12: 3 (Arizona State, OREGON, Washington)
Atlantic 10: 2 (VCU, SAINT LOUIS)
Mountain West: 2 (Nevada, UTAH STATE)
OVC: 2 (Belmont, MURRAY STATE)
WCC: 2 (Gonzaga, SAINT MARY’S)

GAME - SET - MATCH!

The phrase is actually “First for in” not “First four”. What you said would make sense if 1. it was called First Four, and 2. The official 1st round doesn’t start until Thursday, if it was a he official start to the tournament, it would be the 1st round. The tournament officials doesn’t appear to recognize these 4 games as the start of the tournament, that’s because they are playin games.

Jesus Christ dude, that is not the phrase you're malcontent brain is literally making stuff up at this point. I am done. Continue whining like a little girl.

See the rest of you Wednesday

For the math nerds:

According to KenPom we have:
- 9.4% chance of making the round of 32
- 1.7% chance of making the Sweet 16
- 0.3% chance of making the Elite 8

Everything further is < 0.1%

Sounds about right. Down year for the BE, next year it will be back on the upswing with a lot of strong, improved teams.

Isn't Tues and Wed nights games called the "first round" of the tournament?

Yes. SJUFan is a miserable troll. His act is getting old. He doesn’t like Mullin so everything has to be slanted against him.

It’s the “Field of 68” and we play in the first round of the tournament. A win counts as a tournament victory Only a negative sh*tbag would argue we aren’t in the tournament.
