Lack of fan support is a St.John’s tradition.

The Lavin and Mullin years had great crowds. Last year the fan support was at an all time high. MSG and Carnesecca were hot tickets on the resale market as well.

I don't think they will recover for awhile. They priced out many season ticket holders and there is no buzz around the program aside from the die hards. Their marketing effort this yr also seems futile. Body Armor and Repole are no longer involved. Anderson is a nice guy and a good coach. He needs to win quickly though.

Btw, does anyone know the terms of his contract?  Hasn't been reported anywhere.

So Carmine you are intimating by your post that the better attendance of last year was because Mullin was the coach. Guess people came out to see him sit on the scorers table, tie his shoes and curse out the refs for the hole game. Has nothing to do with season tickets price increase along with requiring a financial contribution, and Mullin adding 4 more years of futility to a once proud program. You may also want to change from referring to our new head coach as CTC and start referring to him as CFC as during the early season telecasts the announcers have claimed that we offered the job to 3 other coaches before turning to MA.

Mullin led to an undeniable increase in fans. The win total this year should be close + or - two games. I’d bet Poison’s dick that the attendance is way down at year’s end for a team with an exciting style of play and two first team all-conference caliber players.

I know it’s a small bet, but I’d love to see your explanation when the attendance #s are so far off in two comparable seasons.

I really like Earlington's game and think his potential is really high. I got home when the game was 42-42 and focused on him a few possessions. He had a real nice post move at one point and drawed an and-1. Had a pretty nice euro step on a break. I watched him box out on D, cover a guy on a perimeter and cut off a few backdoor passes on the weak side.

He’s 220...you’re saying he was 255? Where did you read that? It seems implausible to me.
He gave a video before season. About 2 minutes. His words.
Thinking about it, it sounds high. Maybe he said 25 pounds. He said he wanted to convert to a guard full time.

-Champagnie is a keeper

- LJ saved us after a really poor first 5 minutes or so.

- Roberts same games 1-2. Hands are much improved.

-Carraher & earlington will have to give us some scoring all year.

-obviously Williams isn’t 100%. Aside from his willingness to look at basket I think his floor game has been solid.

- does Rutherford have a right hand?
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

All good points. Not sure on Anderson's $

It looks like the light is turning on for him. He was one of those "lets take a chance" recruits similar to Felix Balamou where they have some stuff that's elite and you think you can teach them the rest.

I think even just getting some minutes helps guys settle in and gain some confidence

Just curious what makes you deem a coach lazy?

He lost 35 pounds to get faster. Kind of wish someone would have watched him play 3 years ago.

I did. He was undersized step out 4 next to Ian Steere. If he was at the level he originally started at that would be his role.

I hope he puts on some muscle now. Weight loss is great for conditioning but he needs to be stronger.

I think Roberts and Champagnie are pleasant surprises w good bb instincts.

Both are playing above my expectations so far. Still not entirely confident come conference play just yet but they are above the curve so far. All good signs.

6 pages of posts and barely a mention of Heron scoring 5 points in 29 minutes vs UNH...

Just an unacceptable performance for him vs a clearly inferior opponent.

Hope I am wrong but it might be a VERY long season for this team.

I am just not seeing all these positives from Earlington & Roberts people are talking about.

Once again, teams with real size are going to kill St. John's.

And improved each season he was here making the NCAA tournament his final season.

He was below.500 in each of his first three seasons. That’s not an improvement to stick your chest out about. Put it this way, Norm improved each of his first three seasons as well.

It’s astonishing how you struggle so mightily to comprehend everything.

I’m not advocating for Mullin. I was never a huge fan of him as a coach and I was happy when it was first rumored that he would be replaced by Hurley — before our awful no-chinned AD embarrassed the school in front of the world.

Making the NCAA tournament is a big achievement at St. John’s these days.  We’ve made, what, four in seasons that began in a century we are days away from being a full two decades into.

But let’s not allow any context or nuance into a St. John’s basketball discussion. There can only be good and evil, black and white, cursed or thanking Jesus. Leave objective facts to the forums of other programs!

And what happened years 4,5, and 6?

If he kept improving he wouldn’t have been Norm Roberts.

You don’t see the huge improvements Roberts has made? He’s the most athletic player on the floor at all times and he goes after every rebound like a mad man. He’s got like a ton of blocked shots too.

I can’t recall someone who has improved so much from the end of their freshman season to the beginning of their soph season. He looks great.

I'm as happy as anyone with these wins, but some people on twitter are ridiculous.

"This is an L in previous years." We were 12-0 last year, and only lost to Missouri and Arizona St. out of conference in 2017-18. Let's not go overboard.

It’s f*cking insanity. I’m going to be left defending Anderson in three years when all these psychos turn on him.

I’m not sure we ever had a coach that won games against smaller conference foes more reliably than Mullin. Vermont would have almost certainly been a win. We already have the Anderson dick riders making excuses for a loss to Vermont Saturday!

Then what are you saying with that stupid comment? If you stopped talking for even a second and actually watched the game you would know that coach Mullin did next to nothing to get last years talented team to the tournament.
