First of the year released....

SJU at 65, but the WVU win looks good as they are number 12.

Yep, there are a few teams behind us that are projected in the tourney. Beat Albany and throw everything you got at Zona. For example last year St. John’s ended with a 75 NET. Keep thinking that the Johnnies are way out of the picture.

WV a solid Q1 win.  more opportunities there too.  losses don't look bad.  ASU is a Q1 loss.  vermont currently Q3, but on the cusp of being Q2. Arizona another Q1 game coming up

I dont know what this list is but anything that has butler at 4 is a joke.

I just watched butler and they are not a very good team.

ESPN power rankings dont even have a BE team in the top 15.

It is what NCAA replaced RPI with... used for tournament selection

Usually the NET is very skewed at first but evenly aligns by the end of the year.

current AP poll is also good.  WV at 25.  Zona 16, Butler 17 and Nova 18.  Gtown, SH, xavier, Marquette, and dePaul all receiving votes.  Plenty of opportunities for more good wins coming up.

WV will not be a Q1 win for long.

Then how did SJ get in the tourney last year with a NET of 75 and KenPom in the 80’s, but y’all were as hyped as could be for that year, but yes I’m a loser. You don’t make the tourney losing 4 of 6 games and the NET in the 70’s but y’all did. Must’ve been because of Mullin being a great coach! Thanks for me being the loser.

Why are you citing to KenPom like it carries any meaningful weight to the tournament selection committee?

Ken Pom is one the most trustful sites IMO and many others.

Who cares about your opinion? The NCAA didn’t use KenPom to select and seed in any meaningful way. That’s all that matters. Your opinion is irrelevant and you are intentionally cherry-picking metrics that fit your narrative.

The NCAA used the the NET, leaned on the RPI more than they will going forward since the NET was new and  flawed, and looked at Q1/Q2 wins compared to bad losses. They also factored in missed games by Ponds and Heron which resulted in three losses that likely would have gone the other way (especially DePaul at home without Ponds).

The NET will not be kind to us this year after we stop playing one of the weakest schedules in the country for 10+ point wins. WV will not be a Q1 win for long since we played them at home.

And before some idiot comes in with a straw man argument  about the weak schedule, I don’t have a problem playing patsies early. I’d prefer those patsies to be to be on the right side of the top 200, though.

St Johns has moved up to 17 spots in the NET rankings to #50!
That’s big time.
