Please provide me a list of the coaches who have worked hard in your opinion.

Every coach but Norm has been labeled lazy since Jarvis. That is part of our collective delusion. The only reason Norm got a pass there is because his incompetence was absolutely staggering. Rating his work ethic would be like critiquing the wardrobe of a serial killer while observing them in the act of killing.
Every coach including Norm won more games. His laziness wouldn’t be such an issue if he weren’t so terrible at every aspect of the job.

But how many Ncaa tournament appearances does Norm have? Huh.

Norm was considered the worst coach in school history. His winning percentage is one of the worst in big east history. He has 0 tournament bids. However, norm was not known to be lazy.
I asked the bishop Loughlin coach about one of his players coming to St. John’s. His response “cmon norm” and laughed. Still norm’s winning percentage isn’t the worst in school history.
End your crusade. Even i am bored with it.

Never! You lie and talk sh*t here and you're gonna hear it from me!

You should learn to take it to the right thread though. Dave doesn't like it in the game threads.

He had a season that matched the best outcome by any Johnny coach started in this millennium. It's 2020. Do the math.

Entire body of work. Can't just cherry pick the good stuff.

It’s an interesting idea, hypothetically would you prefer a coach that gets 17 wins every year or a coach that fluctuates between 13-22 (regular season)

Mullin's record over 4 years was just bad. Anderson's record over a much longer period of time is way better. Also he hasn't even had one full year here. Give him at least 3 years to see what his average win total per season is before drawing any conclusions. Everyone is being overly critical of him in a transition year. Unduly so.

The guy is a proven coach. I haven’t agreed with everything that he has done. But the boys play hard. They haven’t quit. Mustapha is still invested, even though you guys don’t believe that.

It's not that I think he's not invested. I just think he's been mostly a bust this season. I'm sure you've read enough of my posts to know how I feel about Anderson. I'm pleased with the foundation he is laying, the way the team plays and the effort they give. No doubt he's proven and it shows.

This is insane. I haven’t seen anything from Anderson this year that would concern me going forward from a coaching perspective. It’s clear to me that many of you truly don’t understand the importance of talent. He’s not perfect, but you can see if/when he gets talent how good we will be. He can’t get blood from a rock. If he gets the players, we will win. Not go 4-14 with 3 f*n NBA players in the starting line up.

I want a coach that makes me believe we can beat anyone, not lose to anyone. Keep praying to your Mullin alter that Anderson will do worst, it’s not gonna happen.

Ok. Here is his entire body of work.

He came here a coach that had never coached a game in his life inheriting the worst team in the history of St. John's basketball. A lineup John Wooden couldn't have won with.

His teams record improved every single season he was here. Culminating in a breakout 4th season in which his charges qualified for the Ncaa tournament.  He then resigned/was released/didn't renew his contract prematurely.

How's that? Darn accurate, isn't it?

You haven't seen the standings? We're 3 - 9 and in 9th place.

Nobody wants CFC to do worst. All want him to succeed. And where exactly is this Mullin alter? Sounds like a must visit for all St. John's fans.

Your comment that season 4 was a breakout year is absurd.  Mullin had the horses and misused them to the point that the team folded like a cheap deck of cards in the last 6 weeks of the season.  More of a breakdown season.  Seemed to be the result of poor conditioning and not developing a bench in the cupcake portion of the schedule.  I loved the Mullin hire but he proved he cant coach and seemed not to have a work ethic,  spending a good deal of time on the west coast didn't cut it.

At Kansas or Kentucky it wouldn't have been. At the graveyard of coaches - it was.

He had some horses. There just wasn't nearly enough of them.

In another month, we'll be reminiscing longingly about such a season. March 2021 the same.

It was one of the most exciting seasons in my brief career as a fan. They fell short of where they could have gone but the games where they played well were fantastic
