I’m certainly not complaining about the additions. But that lineup you just listed is 4 guys who shot sub 30 from 3 last year. Don’t see many lineups without 2 of Posh and wusu/Mathis so need one of those guys to be a legitimate 35 % shooter for us to maximize posh’s potential. I think wusu can bring that % up.

I’d agree that Mathis’ form looks better than a sub 30% shooter. And he’s definitely comfortable putting them up. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. Hopefully the uptempo system and CMA make him a useful player on that end of the court.

I'd be shocked if Wusu isn't 35% from deep. He has the makings of a very good shooter. Posh as well...maybe slightly less.  Shot selection seems to be a problem with Mathis.  Hopefully the pace and playing with 3 other decent shooters will result in him getting better looks.  Ideally, that lineup is getting a lot of easy baskets in secondary transition.

Now that NCAA approved the players making money in advertising etc. Julian can stay another year and still get paid. I'm sure just about all of the St. John's players will be able to sign a deal somewhere. This is going to be absolutely huge for recruiting. Now kids will want to come here for the financial opportunities as well. This could catapault us straight to the top.

Hofstra guard is on board.  Tareq Coburn.

Nice. Looks like a great role player. Maybe more.

Damn this team is really deep. With every player so concerned with playing time and with the free transfer this year it's nearly impossible to build a roster this deep. There's only 200 minutes to go around so going to be interesting to see how that gets divided especially in the backcourt with Posh, Smith, Coburn, Mathis, Wusu and Pinzon with Julian looking to play the 3 more now too.

The people that doubted Anderson could build a solid roster and get local kids are eating crow today. He has a sure fire top 5 BE and NCAA Tournament roster heading into year 3. No excuses now, time to win some games.

Cfc doubters are eating crow because you dropped some names?  They don't play the games on paper...nor in the delusional minds of our fanbase.

He was right about building a solid roster and getting local kids and you are right to state this does not guarantee on court success. Will have to wait for the games to be played but believe it is reasonable to be optimistic with Posh and Penny as two very nice pieces to the puzzle.

To me, Champagnie returning is such a fortunate break for the team, it could be what elevates them into the top 25, and knows, maybe even a deep run in March if key guys stay healthy.

Adding Jose Alvarado with the final ship would put us in the top 10, imo. Right now, should nothing change, we should be a top 25 team, somewhere between 20-25.

You must be kidding me.  We're going to be a ranked team this upcoming season? And who is Jose Alvarado?

Way to damage your credibility. Don't you follow it? Alvardo is a PG who led Georgia Tech to the ACC Tournament Championship in his 4th season and is still in the NBA Draft with rumors of him returning to G Tech or possibly transfering for his fifth season with rumors that St. John's is a possible destination.

My credibility is undamageable. I've stated many times before that I don't follow recruiting at all. I don't know anything about our players until they arrive here.

You don't follow anything that happens in the offseason, that's perfectly fine. So I don't know why you'd be on a thread titled "2021-22 Roster" in July if you don't know or care about all but 3 of the players on that roster until November.

It's not just a lack of knowledge about recruiting this is a local high school player who played 4 years of college ball at an ACC school and was MVP of a conference tournament championship team. If your knowledge is limited to just St. John's games your frame of reference on just about anything college basketball is extremely limited so you may be right that your credibility is undamageable because you have none. But that's OK I know plenty of people who know nothing about college basketball although I must admit they don't post on a college basketball web site. But carry on at times you are fairly entertaining.  :)

I know tons about St. John's basketball and some about the other Big East teams by osmosis. Hence, why I only ever post about St. John's basketball so that what I post is backed by an encyclopedic knowledge base from a keen analytic mind and therefore carries enormous weight.

I know a little bit about the America East and Colonial conference as I follow a team in each.

The ACC is way out of my sphere.

If you caught me talking out my a$$ about local high school talent and the Acc tournament you would have had me. But of course I didn't so you don't.

Yeesh. Chill out. Things are finally looking good, and now we're just finding things to fight about. Posh and Champ are back. That alone makes us a contender. What remains to be seen is how so many new players will work together.

How these guys mesh is key. Hope we get Keith Williams with the last ship. With him added to mix, the team would be scary.

Like Williams too but if we can get either someone with more PG skills or a real bucket getter may be better off.

This team is so deep now it's insane. Talk about a lot of new faces.

Another PG to spell Posh is really needed.
