Hour away from what is a huge game for the program if they can pull off the upset and crickets. Time for Posh and Penny to step up and have big nights on a big stage.

Not expecting it to go well after how the team played the last couple games. With that said, moral victories aren't good enough anymore. A close loss shouldn't be spun into a good thing.

Posh looks like the best player on the court. Champ has been AWFUL.

Let’s get Stanley some more minutes. He is the only one bodying that center.

Typical St. J's not enough players who can shoot or score.

Nothing good ever happens when Wheeler touches the ball. He’s a really frustrating player. Give his minutes to Stanley.

Champ does not look like a guy that has a chance at sticking in the NBA tonight.

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but does Julian look checked out to anybody else since the Indiana game? His body language is awful and he's not being remotely aggressive on offense after taking over late in that game. It's weird.

He’s always looked that way even when playing well. He’s not really a guy that takes over…more of a guy that takes advantage of open looks and finds good angles to the basket when the ball isn’t in his hands. He doesn’t create.

To an extent, I agree. But he looked like he was throwing his arms up at some players earlier in the game. Then he put up just an awful no-effort turnaround shot shortly after. I don't know. It didn't seem like he was interested the last couple of games.

Hope I'm wrong and it's just years of off-court drama that has me traumatized.

Never had a chance. Iona played Kansas tougher than we did. This team isn't making the tournament or making any noise in it.

I thought we brought in a better supporting cast than we had last season. I was wrong.

Observations from the game.

Arena is eh. Such little personality. Like an airport. I’d say it ranks behind Newark and Brooklyn, but ahead of where the Nets played in the 80s and 90s.

Here’s my take on where this team is…

They play with very little cohesion. It’s what I feared most with this almost completely new team.

In addition to this, we’re not really good at anything. We’re not strong, fast, accurate, energetic, athletic or smart.

I suppose this is not much different than most St.John’s teams early on, however, I do think some of the problems they have now will be worked out in the near future.

Champagnie was clearly frustrated for the majority of the game. His teammates were asleep at the wheel, and that’s frustrating. Posh played great, but he can’t do it alone.
He’s a ball hawk on d, and Smith isn’t. That’s not a good match, imo.

Team needs to regroup and come up with a better line up and system. Fordham can absolutely beat us, and we had better not sleep on them.

He shouldn’t have to rely on others. He has no ability to create…he’s completely dependent on his teammates offensively. On defense, he was awful. That Braun kid was beating him almost at will.

This is a very unathletic team. I still think we will be on bubble, but why can’t it ever be easy?

Hahahaha. 40 minutes of hell really is a misnomer. We haven't played one game of this.  There is a reason no one plays that style anymore-it doesn't work in these times of basically position less basketball where almost everyone can handle, pass, and shoot.

Team looked disgraceful in the 1st half. 2nd half they showed some fight but couldn't get over the hump.

Still early and time to gel.
