http://blogs.courant.com/uconn_mens_basketball/2008/09/nate-miles-not-on-campus.htmlNate Miles will not be on the UConn campus until meeting with a review board on Thursday, several people close to the situation said. Meeting with a behavioral review board is standard procedure when getting arrested. Miles is due in court Tuesday to answer charges of violating a restraining order. He was arrested Monday for allegedly placing a call to the protected party, a female UConn student, 16 minutes after a restraining order was issued at 8 p.m.
A lot more should be known about Miles' behavior and his future after his court appearance Tuesday in Rockville and his meeting at UConn Thursday. This will not be Miles' first sit-down with UConn administration. Coach Jim Calhoun and his staff fought tooth and nail with the NCAA and the university to get Miles cleared and accepted. Miles enrolled for the second summer session in June.
So Miles -- whether the details of this incident are disturbing or relatively innocent or something in between -- has already had a close eye on him well before being arrested. Fair or unfair, he came to UConn with a certain perception and reputation tied to him after attending five high schools.
There are any number of situations that could have occurred here, and it's unclear why the initial complaint against Miles was made and the restraining order issued. I'm hearing from some people that an argument between Miles and the women took place over the status of their relationship and that Miles placed the call because he didn't understand why she placed the restraining order.
