Sorry guy but if you make 50,000 a yr you are not taking home 4000 a month try about 2800-3000 a month max and if you are dumb enough to figure out with taxes homeowners and interest that you can make that nut every month than put the blame on yourself. I don't blame the credit card company for giving me credit, when i run up a bill i can't afford. People are lazy and want someone to blame for a poor decision.

It a combo of both - greedy lender preyin on the weak and hungry, and foolish renters who got no street smarts.

As fo Iraq - it truly has been the biggest abomination of US foreign policy since Vietnams. Best believe.

It hard my brother to put all the reason down here on a bball board, but I will go wit this:

We needlessly lost 4100 of the finest men this here country produce cause we invade under completly false pretenses whether it be phony WMD or equatin Iraq wit al-Qaeda. That is as shameful as sendin' troops to Southeast Asia 'cause of a naval battle that neva happen.

i was just using round figures...that's why i pointed out that no one buys a 500-thousand dollar home out of the box.  sorry you missed the point.

BINGO. the reason most people that make $50g a year have tried to buy houses for $500g's is because they have been lied to...

That is complete and total BS...

If you make $50,000 a year and you try to buy a home that cost $500,000 and want to do with no down payment...    you are a COMPLETE AND TOTAL IDIOT and if you lose the home its your own fault...

How difficult is it to figure out what you can afford...   go to almost any real estate site and they have mortgage calculator...    plug in the numbers and see what you can pay...

Thats a pretty naive statement.  Have you ever gotten a mortgage before?  Pretty hard to deny that you didn't know how much your mortgage payment was going to be when you have to initial about 100 times next to your payment amount.

Now yes maybe some people were lied to and taken advantage of but it is not THE reason.  In fact it has been shown in about 65% of subprime loan applications that the applicant lied in their application.   Nobody to blame but themselves.
