Virginia's got some players who... well, I'm not sure that they have any heart.  But Sylven is something to build around, and Farrakhan's grandkid Mustafa and Zeglinski can really shoot.  But the backup point guard is more underwhelming than Quincy Roberts' performances.

I've been watching a lot of Virginia games!

Ya I liked the Farrakhan kid also. Him and Landerberg I'd take. That might be it

Who can Virginia beat? North Carolina played a terrible game, and housed them at Virginia. Sad that Landesberg left NY to play for them.

Really makes you wonder what he's made of. You might be able to build around Landesberg, but I didn't see another ACC player on that team.

Whatever Landesberg is made out of I'd want it on my team. Kid is good really good.

He might be a great individual player, but do you really think he has any interest in winning? Why leave home to go play for one of the worst teasm in the nation?

If it's an education he REALLY wantd, I'm sure schools like Stanford, Georgetown, Michigan, Cal, Illinois and Syracuse would have found a spot for him.

School by school: too far, maybe too big-time of a program, kind of far, too far, not as good as Virginia, not at all as good as Virginia.

Virginia is a FANTASTIC school, and a classic, historic campus to boot. http://www.virginia.edu/Facts/Glance_Rankings.html

Virginia's had more recent success than St. John's - winning's not that far off.  And he's going to make a name for himself there.  As for leaving home, some people just want to see something different.  If I were a kid who is thinking about factors other than playing pro ball - and he seems like a bright fella - you can bet that I would be thinking about Virginia.

When was the last time Syracuse and Stanford were in the same sentance?

When was the last time Syracuse and Stanford were in the same sentance?

When you're reading a list of the top 50 schools in the country.
Which school are you trying to rip on?

Stanford is a top 10 school, and for communications and architecture, Syracuse is ranked number 1.

First off, Virginia is far from being "one of the worst teams in the nation". They are bad, but they also nearly beat Syracuse on the road, lost to Minnesota by 10 on the road, lost to Xavier by 14 at home. They've played a solid schedule and weren't completely blown away until that UNC game. Not to mention that they've played three ACC games and already have a conference road victory.

Secondly, you're criticizing him for "not wanting to win" because he didn't come to a program that hasn't been close to the NIT in years?

UVA was in the NCAA Tourney two years ago. It's not like he decided to bail on St. John's so he could go to Northwestern.

I know Syracuse grads like to look down on St. John's, but their average SAT score is a lot closer to STJ than it is to Stanford.

Northwestern would beat Virginia.

Maybe this year, but that doesn't change the fact that they have never -- not once -- been to the NCAA Tournament.

Why are you comparing SU to SJU?

SU grads don't look down on SJU, they don't consider SJU at all.

And Stanford doesn't consider either of them at all, so everyone is even.
