If you were the coach of St. John's....

Just for fun. Please no bashing Norm.

If you were the coach of St. John's and the season was over... what would you have each player focus on improving for next season. Please only list no more than 2 things.

For instance:

Boothe: Outside Shot; Free Throw Shooting
Horne: Dribbling; Free Throw Shooting
Kennedy: Dribbling; Outside Shot
Evans: Boxing out on defense; Free Throw Shooting
Burrell: Post up skills; Catching the ball (hands)
Coker: Playing defense without fouling; Defensive Rebounding

I didn't say "if you were Norm". I said if you were the coach of St. John's. Assume it was your first year as the coach and Norm is gone. What "constructive criticism" would you give the players we have?

If I were the coach of St. John's right now I would announce my resignation effective at the end of the season.

I would tell Boothe to work on his game over the summer, because as of now he's no longer the starter. Omari's my guy, and it doesn't matter that he's not a natural point guard because I'm such a good coach that I'll turn him into one.

I also tell Mason to hit the weights because he'll probably be a power forward. DJ isn't going to the bench. If he doesn't like it, I tell him that he can transfer to D-II without having to sit a year, and Cluess could turn him into a 26 ppg scorer at Post.

Grad students don't have to wait a year if they transfer.

I am pretty sure that rule has been changed...

Me too.  I believe that was just a one year failed experiment.

I know it was a loophole the NCAA didn't like.  But I never saw anything about the rule changing.

Usually each player requires a customized list on how to improve. However, this team is unique.
1. hit the weights...often
2. jumpshot...make mike bibby envy how many practice j's each one of you takes daily. Daily includes March through October

You hit the nail on the head. Both suggestions make sese. I'd also tell Mason not to assume he will be a starter.
