Kudos to the STUDENT SECTION!!!

You guys were great in refusing to sit down.  It's an embarassment that the students have to fight for their right to stand and cheer like hell!  What's even more unfortunate is if there were even 100 students they'd never even try this c rap, but I'm proud to have seen you guys stand up (no pun intended) for your rights!

i was at the game and in the "student section" but I complied with the MSG ushers requests because 1) they threw out 2 students totally arbitrarily AND 2) I brought my little sister and brother to the game as a xmas present and was not risking getting thrown out with them there even if I totally disagreed with the ushers.

I'm proud you guys stood up and beat them eventually...hopefully this will not be an issue in the future!  I may not feel the same connection all the time since I had my "student section" days as a Cameron Crazy but I am always 100% behind you guys and you better believe next game I'll be right there with you unles I'm bringin my little bro again.

Long Live the Johnny Jungle!

PS Hilarious occurrence.  Dave had as many people coming up to him saying "Hey Johnny Jungle!" or "Are you Johnny Jungle?" as Bob Ryan did!  How do you feel JJ, the Vinny Chase of St. John's bball?

Also, thanks to all the alumni/fans who stood up and chanted for the students - that was awesome.

This was so unnecessary as there was one fan that was complaining the past two nights and in fact he moved his seats and the next 10-12 rows behind us were empty so obviously any joker that made a complaint would get the satisfaction of watching the ushers hassle us. There were also better seats available towards the center of the court and where Marist's band was as all those seats were empty. Either way the fashion that the matter was handled was horrible. The ushers are so rude and abrupt you try and talk to them and they'll say they'll talk outside. They don't treat you like a human being and its so degrading we aren't criminals we are all scholars. What upsets me even more is the lack of support from our own school. Our team chaplain Father Maher often gives dirty looks over to us while even laughing at what was going on. I have no respect for that I don't care if he is a priest or not. The whole matter was a distraction for fans and players. The whole bench was looking over at a lot of the things going on and how could they not? It was such a scene and it was so close to the action. Action will be taken by the Johnny Jungle in protest of this. I will first attempt to talk to the school even though I know they will not support us because they never do and if that fails I will contact every media outlet and we will protest outside of MSG before the Pitt the game. St. John's has just as much blame in this as Dolan's crew.


PS I really don't like it because Johnny Jungle is much bigger than myself nor do I want it to be about me. It's flattering in a sense because people mean it in a nice way but I much prefer to be referred to as just Dave. I much prefer to keep a low profile.

and where was stjohns to have our back? oh wait they dont. only at this school where students get warning for cheering. i bet you if the pitt coach told the sg secruity that the section standing is distraction his players they will come over and tell us to sit down. dixon if ur reading this try it i bet you it will work
