I wonder if they knew that Lance and another great recruit were about to sign to play for Norm?

You don't know this for a fact, Baldi.  I hope you are right.  If I knew Norm was gettign Lance and Pinkston, I'd back off immediately.

Norm made a great hire with the 2 AAU guys. I wonder if the administration didnt allow that hire until this year. Either way, starting to pay off. Lets see what Norm can do with some big time recruits

What big recruits?  You have no proof.

That is a big if.  I'll be the first to buy a Lance Stephenson jersey. I'd be ecstatic.

Thats refreshing, considering some fans would rather Lance go elsewhere to spite Norm

Hey, if Lance comes to St. John's...Great!  I really hope it happens.  That still doesn't mean coach Roberts is the man for the job.

117 signatures and we haven't even hit the Monday boom.  A lot STJ posters don't read the boards over the weekend.  200 by the close Monday might be a short prediction :)

There's no way that a mother would give her son the name "Hugh Jass."  ;)

Courtesy of Dr. Fun...considering I have Bronchitis...it made me cough (laugh) for the last half hour straight. ;D

Don't be so cynical postell25. Oh sure, some people say that "sarcasm is wasted on the stupid," but I say that if there's one thing that's going to change a Vincentian's mind about an important theological position such as whether to employ the dribble drive offense it's a petition on the internets signed by nearly 40 people, including several recent grads who live in their parents basements, a number of toupeed geriatrics in red and white sweaters, and such distinguished grads as Carl Carlson, who cogently writes that "'it is Ludicrous that my alma mater constantly disrespects me by putting this man in charge of my livelihood." Ludicrous indeed.

You can scoff postell25, but I find it heartening that little people like Carl Carlson, Sven Svenson, and other otherpersons who have been personally disrespected by the university's BB program have taken what will undoubtedly be the decisive action that finally brings this charade to an end. I recall that when Tommysea1 and I organized a "Fire Norm Roberts" Bake Sale at the Huntington Odd Fellows Club last November, a number of cynics such as yourself stood snickering near the back of the hall, and not just because the person we'd hired to make the banner had mistaken the F in Fire for an H and we ended up waving a banner that read "Hire Norm Roberts" for a couple of hours until a good Samaritan let us know about the goof. Boy, were we red-faced. Still, all told we raised nearly forty dollars after expenses and immediately fired off a letter to the administration, letting them know that we would not be donating the money to the university until such time as they stopped disrespecting Carl Carlson's livelihood and further that if they did not hire John Calipari as coach for the 2010 season we'd be donating the money to the Episcopalians.

You may recall that the Taffners attempted to influence the selection process last time around, offering 25 million dollars or so if the university would hire the coach of their choosing. That offer was refused because basketball is a big business and 25 million is chicken feed -- consider the revenues that could be generated by 3200 screaming fans at a sold out state of the art Carnesseca Arena, especially if they all had two pretzels per game instead of their usual one, or none if they are lactose intolerant. So, if the university is not going to be influenced by a chicken feed twenty five million, what will influence it? Exactly! On-line petitions; bake sales; bumper stickers; impotently whining on the internets day after dreary day, saying the same things over and over and over and over again in exactly the same way, without a single variation, hint of wit, or scintilla of insight: this is exactly the sort of community action we need to convince the powers that be to hire an established head coach home run winner such as Tom Pecora or Jim Larranga.

So laugh now postell25. But you won't be laughing when Father Harrington feels the on-line wrath of several irate Saint John's fans.

Why do I have to be offended to not think something was funny?  GFAK posts something like this almost daily. It was not his best work.  I am recent graduate, but I own my home.

Yea I find some of his stuff funny but this wasn't one of them. Nor did I find anything offensive about it either.
