Hopefully we make a nice lil run and get a chance to end the season on a different note rather than the Marquette spanking. These kids need to build some confidence, this could be the start

Yeah, but at least we lost in a meaningful game to an NCAA tournament team.  We don't win on the road, so we will no be ending our season to a 15 (about to be 16) loss A-10 team!

I agree this would be a bad loss should we lose, but it could be a road victory, something we can build on. Shall we lose, you have more ammo for your Firenorm site, if not St johns season continues. Its a win win situation for you

Richmond Spiders:
-32nd tallest team in the country
-beat Xavier on March 7
-lost in the first round of the CBI last year
-Their coach is 36, played under Carril at PU, followed Joe Scott to Air Force, was a head coach there for a year at 31, before they brought in Bzdelik, and runs a Princeton offense
-His best big man, a third-team  all-A-10 team member, blew a ligament before the season. His best player this year was his shortest player, 6' sophomore Kevin Anderson, a second-team all-A-10 selection this season and last year's Rookie of the Year.

I'd expect them to be a slight home favorite.

they beat xavier..they beat duquesne...they lost by six at syracuse...they lost a close one to wake forest.

Deal, can you cook? OH and btw, baylor is going up against the Norm owned Hoyas. If GTown wins that means St Johns is better than Baylor right?

This is great more experience for our younger players. why in the world would a coach turn down a chance to coach their teams longer . Cinncy & the Hall are dum for that especially with young teams. I am pissed with got Charleston in the 2nd round they are a pretty good team.

Glad we didn't turn it down. Good to get at least one more game. Can't say I'll be upset if we lose.

But I LOVE the fact that they make the championship best two of three!

I know the current state of affairs doesnt really leave st johns with a "sense of entitlement"...but come on, the CBI?  I mean we're talking about the NIT of the NIT...I dont care how far we've fallen, we're still a big east school and we still have the 7th most wins (I believe, forgive me if I'm wrong) in college basketball history...of all things norm and this administration has done, I can honestly say this has pissed me off the most....any bit of pride this school had was just flushed down the toilet

A better note than getting utterly humiliated at MSG. Richmond is a good match up for us. Let's see what hapens. Many said the same thing about the not in 03

I thought the two wins over Georgetown at the end of the year was the start of that..?
